Title: Russian figures etc 1917 to 1930's
Post by: David on 09 November 2010, 05:14:08 PM
Hi
I am looking for good figures to fit in with my russian, german 1917 to 1923.
German-Hehe War, plus Germans East africa and British and  1914 to 1918.
British and afghan's 1919's
Various other action upto 1930's
The main figures i have are Copplestone, Brigade Games, Foundry and Siberia miniatures.
Is there any others i have missed that would fit in the above?
Thanks
David

Musketeer has some WW1 russians and will hopefully expand the line.

Well for 1917-1923 you are probably OK using the Copplestone. Brigade Games and Musketeer types.

The collar on the  Russian blouse changed to a fall pattern around 1921, and by the later 1920s/ 1930s was universal, so here you are better off using early WW2 era Russians with head swaps. There is some  debate as I understand it about the provenance and extent of their issue but certainly there are photos of Soviet infantry in the early 1930s wearing Adrian style helmst adorned with a big red star.

Of course if you are doing winter uniforms, the greatcoat, although changed in detail, won't look too different in 28mm
