Title: Greetings from the Old Fool!
Post by: DeafNala on 11 November 2010, 04:45:16 PM
Since I've become increasingly addicted to this FINE FORUM & the charming Folks who haunt it, I felt it was appropriate to introduce myself. I'm DeafNala on a couple of Forums although in what passes for reality I'm known as Al or Alan, depending on whether or not you like knick-names.
I've been involved in gaming/painting/scenery thingies for nearly a half century in a lot of different periods/genres. Since a picture is worth a thousand words even in these troubled times, I'll save you the suffering of wading through my drivel. Here I am in all my AWE INSPIRING MAJESTY...sort of:

There, now you know who to avoid.

Thanks MUCHO for the welcome.
There are a few Folks around here that are actually older than moi...mostly trees.    ;)

I've always wanted a Highwayman-cum-Goblin on this forum. Glad you made it!  ;)

What a nice surprise...thanks for the warm welcome! I'm really enjoying my visits to The Forum. I've noticed I'm spending progressively more & more time here. Each of my Fellow Forumites seems to be happily bringing their own unique, creative, & imaginative approach to the Beasty. I find this to be a motivating & liberating experience.
Now that I've almost convinced my Demonically Possessed Camera of Continual Contrariness to actually take photos. although of ASTOUNDING MEDIOCRITY, I hope to add some of my own thingies to the mix.

Grey Power! We will rule. Hell, we already do!

Happy to see you here.

My life's ambition has always been to become a Crazy Old Man...I'm happy to report that I've succeeded.

@Doomhippie: You're the first person I liked here; so I'm happy you don't mind my hanging out here. There have been some Folks who are trying to convince me that I'm not actually a Goblin...they are, of course, wrong. I only occasionally appear in non-Goblin form. Here's my other pesona visiting the display case of mein Freund Tom List in Vienna:

The photo was taken by Tom; my major way of getting pics posted has been by mailing the little horrors to various Guys who are willing to take phots in exchange for the minis. The handsome chap on the right side is the infamous Kooklah Khan.

Hi DeafNala (Alan), I went through some of your galleries on your blog, I really like your painting; the terminators the Death Korps look great. These are just awesome though especially since they are scratch built.

Thanks MUCHO for the kind words & the warm welcome. I'm glad you like my stuff...surprising, up until now everyone on The Forum had shown such remarkably good taste. I admit the wonderful thingies posted here had rather intimidated moi as to posting photos of my own thingies. HOWEVER, since you've shown interest/approval, I'll start inflicting the unwary with pics of my work...it's all your fault...figuratively speaking.

Thanks for the out, Damien. As a man of my word when convenient, I made my first post here:  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=26103.0
I hope you like it or, at least, this doesn't forever sully our relationship.   ::)

Who is the little guy on the left of Kooklah Khan? He looks so much like Panoramix (the druid from Asterix and Obelix), I'm been told it's Getafix in English. Need him.

I'm not sure of the character's name, but he is from Asterix...I use him as my Avatar on T.B.M.F. because of his striking resemblance to moi.

Alan, It warms my heart to see that you send your minis out to share with others.  Just today I sent 6 to distant gaming friend I know through a forum and email list.

And you're giving me ideas to sculpt... beyond the insanity I'm already started on.

Welcome and cheers.

Thanks for the welcome, Ettrick! I really do love sending out packages to the Guys & gals I've come to know & like through the Forums & other places. I'm sure if I thought about it, I'd come up with a reason why I enjoy sending out little packages so much, but it would probably ruin the experience. It's good to know there's a kindred spirit or two here on L.A.F..
