I was so hoping this was going to be in Southern California. =/

Oh well, wish I had the money and lifestyle to go on a tour of gaming across the world. This looks like a great set up.

Unfortunately, due to problems with transport and other commitments, Solway Crafts and Miniatures will not be able to attend Smoggycon this year.

I hope they don't close the A66 over Stainmore this weekend with the snow, don't fancy taking the scenic route to the show.

I think we all know that it will be. I thought the A66 was the scenic route?

As an aside, my dad once closed the A66... about 20 years ago when he was working for the Nortern Echo, there was bad snowfall and the next day he was putting the front page together ('Snap Freeze causes Travel Chaos' kinda thing) and he lied and said the police had closed the A66. They hadn't, but only because the guy whose job it was to close the road hadn't been able to get to work because of the bad weather... actually that last bit is made up. The police hadn't officially announced that the A66 was closed but we all knew it should have been.

Had figured it would be closed  :) just don't like having an extra hour or so on my journey each way,

and I'd be up for a meet, but make no guarentees to remebering about it  ;D

Where you coming from Voltan? Carlisle? I guess A69/A68 isn't going to be a whole lot better, if it keeps up like this you'd be best off going all the way to Newcastle and going A1 or A19 I'd reckon.

Good luck anyway! And to everyone else trying to get to the 'Boro this weekend!

From Penrith, last year it was so easy, follow the 66 till the transporter bridge.

Was planning to go A69,then A1 as it seemed simplest  ;)

We would, but it would involve coming out in the snow to hunt you down.

I nominate Manic Miner, he's only about 30 miles away... he can probably trek across the snow-bound wastes of Durham with badmington rackets strapped to his feet or something.

Canadians, Russians any one else with real weather reading this thread, please feel free to pee yourselves laughing...

Bezzo - good call. Forgot about the Metro Centre. You're right it will be hell until the January sales are over, A1 round Gateshead is best avoided.

 Back  :D.

As Red Orc say's I run Four A miniatures.Just starting out with a bit of everything. It is a very fractured range so far.I have loads of greens sitting waiting to go off to the mould makers.

The range includes :-snow troopers, sea demons, imp's,death cherub's,zombie's and hunters. There are other miniatures too but like I say very different to other pieces out there.

My table is in the first room along with Gateshead Gaming,Critical Mass and Tumbling Dice to name but a few.

I've just spoken to a TNT driver making a delivery.  The main roads are all clear of snow although some side roads are a bit of a problem.  Here in Boro the streets are clear despite the occasional very wet fall of snow.  Hang on. it's winter!   :o

Good point, well made by Red Orc about real weather...

Stonking show!

Cannot praise it high enough - a pound to get in and then they give you a free metal fig, a lollypop and sweetie and a bag for purchases.

How good is that? Excellent effort you Boro guys! Excellent.
Thanks for the enthusiasm and kind words mate.  While I'd like to take all the credit, I've got to acknowledge the massive generosity of Sally and Kev White from Hasslefree Miniatures who kindly provided us with the goodie bags, figures, lollies and sweeties for all the visitors attending the show.  Top Job!
