As promised elsewhere - here are some shots from our club game at the Crisis show in Antwerp. The game won the "Best Presented Wargame"-award, thanks to the efforts of all THS club members, especially Achim, Bernhard, Heinz, Holger, Rob and "master sergeant" Kalle!
The pics have been slightly worked over around some of figure bases and some backgrounds were removed, so I hope it's good eye-candy for you to enjoy.

It is an open secret, that the boys from THS did not seriously expect to win an award this year, leaving “master sergeant” Kalle (or “the wip” as he is also called by the team when looking in a different direction) rather puzzled when being presented the trophy. Our intelligence system pressed some buttons and was lucky in getting their hands on his intended speech, which was rather messed up by a microphone that did not work and him getting nervous about it. May be you care to take a look:
May I have your attention please, just for a few seconds!
Our team has as most of you clubs and traders attended Crisis for some years now.
We have seen the event grow from year every year.
Right from the start the lad of the TSOA have been very very friendly, and well organized.
So that is why we are very much looking forward towards the next "Crisis".
It is about time to thank the Tin Soldiers for their hospitality, friendship and again a great show.
So Ladies and Gents please clap your hands for
Willi, Johan, Rudi and all the others who are too many to mention.

Absolutely brilliant Michael, what a visual treat for the swashbuckling enthusiast! :o :-*
Thanks for showing those pictures of such a beautifully staged game.
:)

Truly awe inpiring! This should be pictured in some book on the wargaming hobby as an example of how dramatic great terrain and figures can look. I would guess it will show up in "Miniature Wargames" magazine.

Fantastic. Full of character. My favourite period. Which rules did you use?

How did you modify the rules for TYW?
Working closely with Warlord Games we had some of their drafts for the upcoming Pike & Shotte supplement for testing. Stats for all troops were adapted to fit their real performances on the battlefield in September 1634. We had special rules for the swedish new tactics to combine a cavalry regiment with commanded musketeers plus a battalion gun. The Imperialists got another special rule for mounted arquebusiers. All of the seven games we had for this battle had different outcomes - showing clearly the advantages and flexibility of the Black Powder rules.

Lovely, the painting on the minis are excellent, they look how I imagine the TYW should look like,um evocative.I ramble.......
-
That's gorgeous! I wish I could have been there.
Am I correct in saying that Black Powder only really works for large-scale battles? That seems to be the general opinion.

Thanks. Expect that we will have to wait for Warlord to release their TYW/ECW Variant as I assume you are not at liberty to disclose the details?
