Title: Looking for 15mm Fantasy Musketeers
Post by: Golan2072 on November 17, 2010, 04:15:48 PM
I'm getting into a fantasy/pirate/renaissance mood as of late, and I'm interested in 15mm fantasy figures armed with muskets, pistols and/or cannons. By "fantasy figures" I mean elves, dwarves, orcs, goblins and so on; finding humans with appropriate weapons is very easy by looking into historical ranges.

Help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the Flintloque line if you want 25/28mm figures. I don't know where you would find them in a 15mm line...

Flintloque looks great, but, unfortunately, it is 28mm and I use 15mm.

So far, the only relevant minis I could find in 15mm are various Dwarven Arquebusiers, such as from 15mm.co.uk (http://www.15mm.co.uk/ADW04_Dwarf_Arquebus.htm) and Chariot Miniatures (http://www.navigatorminiatures.com/product.asp?numRecordPosition=4&P_ID=733&strPageHistory=cat&strKeywords=&SearchFor=&PT_ID=1164). I can also use Miniature Figurines (http://www.miniaturefigurines.co.uk/Catalogue.aspx?ScaleID=2&CategoryID=8&SubCategoryID=51) Renaissance figures or Peter Pig (http://www.peterpig.co.uk/range10.htm) Pirates for the Humans. But I'm still looking for more varied 15mm dwarves, orcs, goblins and elves with 17th-century-esque firearms...

Pendraken do dwarves with blunderbuses and cannons. Although they are 10mm scale, they are comparable to 15mm ranges.

Kallistra have some that may help http://www.kallistra.co.uk (http://www.kallistra.co.uk) in the Hordes & Heroes range

Dwarf shooters have a few guns

Ratmen shooters look like blunderbuss weapons

Ratmen muskets (with Santa hats)

(All images are property of Kallistra and used without permission)

I do not have an accurate size comparison but seam to remember these stack up against 15mm as I was looking at MM at the time.  Can anyone help with comparision shots?

Yes, I forgot about the Ratmen. Pendraken also does musketeer and blunderbus ratmen but as individual figures rather than the strips that Kallistra do.

Magister Militum are also considering a meerkat army, or possibly a mongoose horde, so it might be worth dropping them a line.

To be honest, just play flintloque. You only need a handful of miniatures.

However, the excercise of finding them in 15mm might be quite interesting/fun.

Does anyone know of 15mm Goblin (or Orc or Kobold) Musketeers or Cannons? At worst I'll make do with crossbows or even bows...

Splintered Light http://www.splinteredlightminis.com/goblinoids.html (http://www.splinteredlightminis.com/goblinoids.html) have a Kobold Ranger with a bow - not sure if you can get just the bow armed one but worth asking.

They also have Goblins with bows - not quite Orcs but close-ish  ???

But those are just the ancient ones.
They are looking at 7YW/Napoleonic ones too

Thanks, but what I'm looking for are Goblins/Orc/Kobolds with muskets and/or cannons or crossbows. I can get some Goblin/Orc/Kobold archers, but I'd prefer to have Goblinoid pirates armed with guns! 8)
