There will be lots of AE:Bounty action at Horisont this weekend, so I decided to make my own crew from scratch. I used all kinds of old models and bits and pieces from my bitz-box:

I initially went with this:

Since I don't even have the AE:Bounty ruleset, a friend looked it over and gave advice.
So in the end I ended up with "The Muttley Crew":

I'm really looking forward to playing my first game of AE:Bounty. :)

Really nice selection of miniatures. The conversions are great.A great use of the bit's box.
-
Great! I love the Starquest/Space Crusade stuff
-
Thx. :)
Bits also includes Mordheim wardog head on a Night Goblin body, an Orc plastic archer with the wolf head from a goblin wolfrider and various other stuff.
Hmm. Maybe this topic should be placed in Future Wars. Oh well.

Wow, they look really good!
I confess that I wasn''t very convinced when I saw the first two pix, but in that third pic you've pulled them into a really cool crew with a decent paintjob.
Well done sir! :D

I really like that you took exsiting stuff that looked like nothing more than scraps in a junk box, and made a crew for AE Bounty from it.
That's the beauty of the game too, you don't have to use their models, and some of the very best still will come from someone's left over bitz boxes.
Nice work man!

It was actually quite fun to make something out of... well... nothing basicly.
I just found out you can have robots in AE:Bounty too, so I guess I just might have to make one of my own.

Haha there you go again!
I'm really liking the look of these guys too.

Really nice paintwork there; great stuff. The converted Fimir may be my favourite.

Though I've heard of Darkson Designs, AE Bounty has completely passed me by. They've got some nice minis haven't they? Anyhoo...
Great to see some bits-box creations that look absolutely stunning - I look forward to hearing the tales of the Muttley Crew as they rampage round sacking cities, capturing ships and peeing up against lamp-posts!

In addition to Wargameguru's post this may help too:

That's exactly what I was thinking. The paint job really makes those figures shine. I love the strong cartoonish highlights. You've really done your bits box proud.
I just picked up AE bounty as well, and you've inspired me to paint something up for it from my stash. I'll post pictures when I'm done.

Great stuff, Jaeger!
Got me inspired to waddle through the clubs bitz boxes (we got around 10 kilos worth of stuff) :)
-
Thanks. :)
And it's really fun making something out of nothing.
10kg is A LOT of bits. Looking forward to see what you come up with.

I actually bought the rulebook now on the basis of your great stuff :)
And its not 10kg apparently, its more in the ranges of 15 (We usually dump everything that we dont need in one of the IKEA bags in the club), but that counting the sprues

I would like to hear your thoughts on the Bounty thing really.
I thought the basics were rather good, but I'm a bit in doubt about the whole composition part.

The writing of the crew composition isn't exactly the clearest ever, and only with reading their FAQ does it make any sense. But I thunk once you've understood it it's one of the strongest parts of the book. Admittedly you can't give a model everything you'd want (well you could almost be purchasing multiple 'Extra Equipment Dirty Tricks), but you get most of what you'd want. Regarding the races though there are a few things missing, namely another ranged specialist, and a pure CC specialist without ranged weaponry to build those Alien swarms. But I think it's hard to find a ruleset that can do it better.
(but then you already know I'm a fan of it ;) )

As I don't have the ruleset and only have played one game, I can't really say that much about composition.
However I do believe that the missions are there to help balance out the game, as you can make quite dull forces that may be nigh on unkillable (all heavy armour and rapid firing heavy weapons), but would loose all objective missions to a teleporting freak show.
The game i played was wery enjoyable and I see great potential in AE:Bounty. :)

a teleporting freak show.
lol That would happen to be Torben's Lyn Kineser? (Lightning Quick Chinese)

Yep. Those are the ones indeed. :)
