Gents,
Just a few pics of a unit of Mutineer Miniatures Brits I've just painted up as the 53rd Foot regiment.
I'm quite pleased with the result.
Regards

Brilliant. Nice bunch of shots of very nicely painted minis. Any particular reason you chose the 53rd?

Hi Svennn
I wanted a 'classic red coat' British unit and liked the off white effect which gives nice warm colors. I expect many of my other units will be more varied in color so a unit of redcoats was mandatory!
The 53rd was in their from the start and formed part of Campbell's relief force toward Lucknow. Bottom line was it gave me a distinctive British red coat unit and I liked the color combination!!!

Smashing job, mate. Very striking. The Mutiny gives one so many colour combinations and choices to pick from, but you can't beat the old traditional red.
A while back I was painting my local mob the Herefords in the Great War. The Herefordshire and Radnorshire RVC (which later became the Herefordshire Regiment), was part of the KSLI (which was formerly the 53rd and the 85th LI). So in a way, we've painted the same regiment (is that clear? as mud? ;D). Perfect choice! :)

Thanks all gents,
They are rather a nice figure to paint and as you say Plynkes, you can really go to town with such color variation...one of the great appeals with the mutiny. I'm well pleased Brian the Mutineer is getting the Gurkhas redone - stand out troops...and ones that should look great on-table. I shall look forward to painting them.
Next up are some gunners!
Cheers

I'd say the 53rd is a good choice for the Mutiny. Being into the Sikh Wars, I have no plan to paint an 1857 Brit army, but if I were to do so, I'd probably opt for the Lucknow relief force which boasts a considerable variety of uniforms - including Highlanders and infantry and red coats. Unlike the troops besieging Delhi, it's not all (or at least mostly) khaki, which makes for a pleasant change.

VERY nicely done! The terrain is just as spectacular and the soil colour is a good match as well.

Nice clean and crisp paint work, like the look of your scenery as well. Hope you'll post up more pics of your mini's in the future :)
