Title: First of my Empress Boers ~ De Bykli's Commando?

The first two bases for my Zulu War game, one each mounted and dismounted ~

The bareheaded figure is made using the Spanish Civil War head set, as I did n't like the Boer in pith helmet so much. These are really lovely figures in my view, a joy to work with.

The helmet guy is meant to be Piet Uys, leader of the Transvaal Burgher Force, who was killed at Hlobane. There is a photo of him posing with that helmet on his lap. I guess it does look a little un-Boerlike if you're not planning to use him as Uys.

Saw these at GHQ on Wednesday, look even better in the flesh. Thought that I might have needed them at certain points in the game, good job that the Zulu dice results were as bad as mine ;)

 :o got those done fast only just undercoated mine  lol great use of colours and the bare head works well with these.
