A test miniature painted for this new french game rule on Franco-Indian Wars ( an english version is on the way). My first Conquest miniature for which I've tried some new basing stuff. Though I think that the colour scheme could be wrong... and I've again had some problem with my matt varnish :smt017
Hope you'll like

Very nice. What paints did you use for the blue and the Indian leggings?
There are some posts on TMP about dealing with the varnish problem. Something along the lines of spray it again with gloss varnish (though I think you might have to do this immediately after the matt varnish goes weird.

Thanks for the comment and TMP tip !
Blue :
- basecoat Mordian Blue ( GW Foundation )
- shade Sennelier grey ink ( a fine art brand) + acrylic matt medium + isopropyl alcohol; around 1 drop paint for 2 drops medium for 1 alcohol. This mix, ink+medium+alcohol is basically my take on GW's washes.
- light Foundry 21B sky blue

Nice work, shame about the varnish. I'll be keeping a close eye on your progress as I'm starting down a very similar road.
I'm looking forward to this rule set as well and just started painting some Galloping Major miniatures. I'll post my pic tonight sometime.

Very nice work. Historically the troupes de la Marine would have white coats with blue cuffs, but often they discarded regulations on campaign so there is nothing wrong with the colors you have chosen IMO. I've seen many variations on the hat also.
-
The blue vest is correct, as the Marine troops were supposed to wear one under their white coat. Most often this blue vest was cut into the blue lining of their old coats.

Do the rules come with 48 cards or 54 cards ?
The blog suggests 54, but Comitatus siggests that there are 48 ?
Is Comitatus the only vendor, if so, do you know the postal charge to UK ?
-
There are 45 cards with the rules. 38 for troops, 2 for officers, 2 for morale and 3 for events. As far as I know Comitatus is the only vendor for know. I've looked on their site but there's no P&P rate for UK. For info, the shipping cost for France, Belgium and Germany is 7€, free for orders of 75€ or more.
Hope it helps :)

Look forward to the English version--am almost tempted to buy the French Copy and dust off my rusty college French! Please make an announcement when the English version is ready.

Any word on the English translation of the rules? I actually read a little French and am tempted to give the French rules a try but would prefer the English if they are coming out soon...

@Axabrax : I've made a post about it on the french official forum and got no reply...
Otherwise I've painted 2 more minis for my Compagnies Franches. While I made several tries, the officer has a quite haggard look and the tricorne guy survives a fall while just varnished and so collects some dust...I hate varnishing >:( >:(
So I've finished my first blister of Conquest miniatures.
