is there a site anywhere that gives the relative sizes / comparison shots / with a ruler or the different Star Wars Micro Machines - especially where there are the different ranges within the SWMM range - the action fleet, alpha range, titanium and so on....

Problem with those is that many of them do not match a certain scale. However quite a lot fit with either WEG of WOTC or Clix. I have snowspeeders, cloudcars, A-wings, Naboofighters, TIEs and speeders from Micromachines. All good for 28mm. Revell SnapFit X-wings and clonetrooper dropships are perfect too. I haven´t found a decent Y-wing yet. The Clix AT-ATs, AT-STs and Naboo speeders are perfest too.
-
but which Micromachine? :D
the action fleet shuttle is maybe an inch long (I think it's the action fleet one), but the alpha set shuttle is scaled to the 20mm micromachine figures...
I know within a range there is little scale comparison, but to see what each range has and what each ship in the range is sizewise would be very very handy
-
I have quite a bit of all kinds of Star Wars stuff. The Action fleet stuff is scaled to fit figures that are about 25-28mm & skinny. These are not Micro-machine. The Micro-machine stuff is various scales to fit the packaging. So is the the Titanium range. The Micro-machine figures are scaled to 18-20mm.
-
Action Fleet are Micro Machines, it's another range under the Micro Machines banner.
how long is the MM Imperial shuttle?
a lot of the MM fighters seem scaled to each other (the various TIEs seem the same size)... but how long are they? with a length, you can get an idea on relative sizes from here
http://www.merzo.net/
under 10x and scroll down and across (although the shuttle looks weird being as big as the AT-AT)
-
http://www.oohyeahzone.com/collection/cb/cb2c-wall-action-fleet.html (http://www.oohyeahzone.com/collection/cb/cb2c-wall-action-fleet.html)
This might help.
Oh and the AT-AT is seriously out of scale, as is the tantive IV blockade runner and the falcon.
Depends on what scale you're doing of course. I thought you mentioned the old 6mm (ish vac formed trenches and Echo base playsets you doing them of WEG or WoTC?
-
yeah, found that site
those are the Action Fleet range so the 25mm stuff... but even then the TIE fighters are too large compared to the shuttle... and it's hard to judge the blockade runner or falcon without some sense of scale...

Blockade runner and falcon are small mate, yes TIEs and Y wings totally out of scale but 'work' and with limited alternatives, historical accuracy isn't always essential. I take it the flacon you've built is 1/72nd?
-
You might want to look at WOTC short lived Star Wars ship battle game. I forget what it was called. The ships are of varying scale, but some might fit in with Micro Machines.

They are tiny and would only possibly work at 6mm tbh (fighters).
-
I thought the the Star Destroyers and Mon Cal Crusiers were bigger. Probably out of scale with most Micro Machines though.
-
Blockade runner and falcon are small mate
well yes I can see that, but saying it's small isn't the point, what size is it? which is what I'm after... is the models length convertable into a model scale of the supposed real things length...

1/150

I had considered them, have a couple for another project and judging by the size of the fighter flight base, the shuttle would be way too small for even 6mm... possibly 2mm - and remember the shuttle should be as long as the AT-AT apparently... (still can't see that myself)
some of the fighters are possible, but bendy plastic vs a micromachine isn't a contest really...
-

again, another range where there is no scale consistant across the range... the Super Star Destroyer is the same size as Home One more or less as opposed to being a 19km monstrosity...
the Falcon should be roughly half the size of a Rebel Transport, a Rebel Transport should be roughly half the size of a Blockade Runner, a Blockade Runner should be roughly half the size of the Nebulon B and a tenth of the size of a Star Destroyer
-
well yes I can see that, but saying it's small isn't the point, what size is it?
No idea of the scale of either the falcon or the block runner they were toys first and foremost so I imagine scaled to fit the boxes.
[General Solo] Good luck...you're gonna need it! [/General Solo] :D

which is why I asked about how long the models were...

THESE ARE NOT MINE BUT A PICTURE I FOUND TO TRY TO HELP SOMEONE OUT. I WON'T F*CKIN BOTHER IN FUTURE! >:(
The speeder next to the blockage runner is 11.5cm from nose to top engine. The imperial shuttle is 13.5cm from nose to back of the top fin. I'm sure you can work it out from there?
-
what range are the two TIE X1's?
-
Apparently there were two produced, one slightly smaller than the other, (so that might explain the one on the right looking a little smaller). No idea re ranges.
Found another website this might be of interest:

This blogsite might be worth a browse :)

I've got quite a few of the Micromachine Starwars ships myself and use them with slightly converted Full Thrust. I did find that the small Lego Falcon and Tyderium shuttle are about the same scale (I know it's Lego but it's fun :D )
cheers

bizarrely, looking at them, the shuttle and the AT-AT do look to be in scale with each other... undersized for 28mm, but the fighters look ok...
-
punted for a couple of MM just to have an idea and then did some maths with the supposedly 1/150 ish AMC action scene kits that I've got... and the spiffy F-Toys at 1/144
AT-AT
RL 2000cm long
AMC 12cm long (1/166)
F-Toys 13.8cm long (1/144)
TIE Bomber
RL 780cm long
MM 2.7cm long (1/289)
F-Toys 5.4cm (1/144)
Imperial Shuttle
RL 2000cm long
MM 3cm long (1/666) to match the MM fighters it would need to be 7cm
F-Toys 13.8cm (1/144) although it can't be same scale as the TIE's as it's a similar size when seen in pics
Millenium Falcon
RL 3475cm long
AMC 14.5cm long (1/239) way out
sigh...

Does this help re: blockade runner
AGAIN A PICTURE FROM EBAY NOT MINE SO NO WAY OF MEASURING!
With the cockpit open and the proportions given by the rebel and leia minis you should have a better idea of overall size.

or you could have just got a ruler out and measured it
-
or you could have just got a ruler out and measured it
I found the pic on an ebay auction for you so I couldn't.
I'm really getting sick of your attitude Chris of late, seriously mate what gives, you're constantly on the snipe?
-
well, you didn't say it wasn't your's did you? ::)
-
well, you didn't say it wasn't your's did you? ::)
You didn't ask...and again as I said, I've been trying to find decent pics during my ebay trawls to help you out with your size issues.
I have:
x-wings
y-wings
a-wings
imperial shuttles
TIE fighters
TIE Interceptors
TIE Advanced
T47 Snow Speeders
Luke's speeder
If you want any of these measured or pics taken on a cm scaled cutting board let me know.
-
you posted the picture!
-
you posted the picture!
And there in lies the flaw...
Judge me by my size do you?
THIS FUNNILY ENOUGH IS NOT MINE SO I CAN'T MEASURE IT!
-
Are the Action Fleet Snowspeeders of right scale for Wotc miniatures ?
-
Are the Action Fleet Snowspeeders of right scale for Wotc miniatures ?
Don't forget the ruler Mark ;)
Sod off! :D
Probably not thinking about it, as the WoTC are practically 28-30mm. You'll have to get the WOTC solid ones.
-
And there in lies the flaw...
stop being an arse
-
(http://jiveturkey.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/pot-kettle.jpg?w=300)
Anyway as I said, if you want any of the ships I have listed measured or pics taken on a cm scaled cutting board let me know, nice and politely mind.
-
ffs... you have a blockade runner in your first picture on this thread, and say to work out how long it is from something else, you post another picture of a blockade runner, it's not a stunning assumption that it's your blockade runner is it really? and for some reason, you're on about playing guess how long it is again when you could just measure it... not that I recall specifically asking anyway!
-
I have a diecast slave-1 that I think came from the micro-machines range and a plastic AT-ST from the Micro collection range, both of which are underscale for 25mm (I'm guessing from memory in the vicinity of 15-20mm). I will try to take a picture over the weekend with some indication of scale if it's of any interest to you.
-

What don't you understand in the phrase 'it's not mine!!!' How can I measure it when it's not mine you muppet! Do you own searching in future, I've posted a list of what I have and I'm happy to take measurements.
I'm not playing guess how long it is, and for the record lose the chip on your shoulder!
-
He has got a point Mark, when I saw that first photo you posted, I also thought it must be your collection - it wouldn't be out of character, given the size of it, although I doubt you've got room for the 20 foot high AT-AT ;) .
Chris - let me know if there is anything you need measuring, other than the Falcon/Blockade Runner (haven't got either unfortunately), have got a worryingly large amount of the Action Fleet stuff now, probably some of which I don't need (shock horror).
-
Sorry but it was assumed and do you think I would be that much of an arse to post something up I had and not take some measurements for him??? Come on Matt you know me better than that!
Anyway this continues to derail his particular question, you have also offered pics and sizes for what you have. He could actually get off his arse and search on ebay for the ships in question and ask the seller to measure it? There's a thought! ::)
No room for the AT-AT granted but at the 30th celebration at Excel they had a full size xwing, speeder bike and snow speeder. Now the last two would be perfect for the garage.
;)
-
cheers WK and Akkie...

god forbid anyone should ask a question on a forum and expect a helpful answer eh?

Or listen fully to the answers given, you got me on selective ignore or something???
I've offered to measure what I have and suggested you contact people who have what we (collectively) don't.
Reply to your PM's as this will be better discussed 1:1.
-
Start playing nicely or I'll lock this thread.

I'm with you boss!

Start playing nicely
If not, i'm sure we could get them a slot on the Jeremy Kyle Show....
;) :)

you never said it wasn't yours, although you've gone back and edited those posts and I haven't got a chip on my shoulder, you're the one who's got all arsey...
Or listen fully to the answers given, you got me on selective ignore or something???
I've offered to measure what I have and suggested you contact people who have what we (collectively) don't.
a day later you offered to measure what you had, but what you posted was to all intents and purposes a here's what I've got, work it out for yourself and I can't be bothered with that... so don't get the hump with me
-
I should have been clear from the off that the pictures I posted were collections of others as were the links, if that caused confusion/frustration hence the (al be it fuelled) edit.
Again sorry you assumed that I was being pendantic, again Chris; as I said to Matt, you've known me long enough to know that's not the case, I always try to help out, including picking you and your shiney shiney up off the floor at salute when you missed your footing on the stairs leaving.
My offer stands that anything I have, I'm more than happy to photograph/measure, (as I did for Luke's speeder and the shuttle).
I think the problem is we forget that we're actually people behind the respective keyboards and text communication is so totally open to misinterpretation. For my part in this text play again I apologise.
So we'll both wind our collective necks in then and stop being so internet sensitive, sound reasonable?
-
Unfortunately Chris is refusing to enter into any dialogue so until he does so we're at stalemate. But I've been man enough to accept any wrong doing on my part.
Oh well...
The guy selling the blockade runner is going to take some pics with coins for scale as he doesn't have a ruler! :o
-
oh ffs... I can't be bothered to get into any dialogue, there is a difference, but do feel free to keep going on and on and on and on and on and.........
I'm sure everyone is really impressed. ::)
-
Chris is refusing to enter into any dialogue so until he does so we're at stalemate.
"at stalemate" over what?
The two of you had a misunderstanding, but its been cleared up.
Have a beer together at Salute, and drop it mate.
:)

well I didn't go bigger than 1/144 here
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=25453.0
but by all means add them to it, should be a useful resource I reckon....
