What possibilities.... :o

That's brilliant! I can imagine I whole regiment of Japanese soldiers that still think the wars on.
But they've discovered eternal youth and now ride Dinosaurs lol

That's Hang Son Doong...I'm using it as the inspiration for a couple of subterranean gaming boards. The sucker is 2 1/2 miles long with a section than would accommodate a 1/2 mile of 40 story buildings. There are two sections where the roof caved in. the older & larger of the two sports an 850' mound of debris with an underground forest, the Garden of Edam...some of the tress reach 100' in height.
There's an article about the sucker in the January issue of National Geographic.

Hang on let's get this straight. This story isn't about Joan Rivers holidaying in Indo-China then?

I'll have to hunt down the January issue of NatGeo! That's nearly the only thing I miss about the library system I used to work at - I used to read all sorts of periodicals as soon as they appeared...
Oh, and don't read the comments attached to the Yahoo article, they're almost entirely a cesspit of pure undiluted Internet Stupidity.

Charlie still digging that $h!t?
Maybe it lead to the last remnants of Lemuria?
"Hang Son Doong" - a play on words anyone? :-X

Probably something you don't want to hear when Marlon Brando is sneaking up behind you...

These things keep popping up there don't they? some years ago I ran a stargate savage worlds game and back then there was something like this being reported as well, so that was the location I choose for the international Stargate program. (a cooperation, mind) Seems like they have some neighbours with even more room.

stargate savage worlds game
--- Any more information on this?

The Garden of Edam?
Sounds like a terrible flintloque pun!
Bloody amazing though, awesome photographs...

Purely home-brew, did not last as long as I hoped (do they ever) but was great fun. The core savage worlds game is quite enough to create normal every day humans and more exotic races. I did not stick to the series or movie rather using the same principle as the series started with as a new setting. Ie, we have a gate and locations, lets go explore! (the locations came from a gate room found on those caves btw.)

This is an amazing bit of inspiration. Thanks for sharing this. I'm off to the newstand to get Jan. NatGeo.
