10+ years ago I started with a tyranid army for 40k, though I never really put effort into it. 40k also didn't really get played a lot in our group. Two years ago, I painted some models for the The Lead Painters' League. I kept the colour scheme and when our groups started playing 40k again for a while last year I finally painted up to around 1000 points of them buggers. I still need to finish my gargoyles, but as soon as that is done, I can show some army shots. In the meanwhiles, I present you these guys, painted to blend into jungle terrain.
Also known as Old one eye, this carnifex is a reall tank killer. At least if he(?) reaches them!

At a distance, the zoanthropes can dish out quite some damage to vehicles and heavily armoured troops alike..

The Fast and the furious. Raveners are some of the fastest in the swamr that for reacing the enemy. While not equiped with any shooing attacks, these guys can dish out quite well in close combat.

Does size matter? I don't know, but I do know that the Trygon terrifies my opponents :)

Those lookk great.I like the chittin armour scheme you have went for.For me though the bases let them down(that is just me being picky though). My wife used to collect Nids and we have a few boxes of them. They never got painted though.Might have to change that after seeing these though.

Superb paint job, really like it.

Lovely paint job, the two main colours really work well together, bases really let them down

Have to agree, reminds me of the cat's litter tray. Paint the bases up mate and you'll lose that scale reference (ie the grit makes them look like models rather than in scale beasties).
Again lovely carapace and overall colour choices, just don't skimp on the bases.

It's good to be back :)
While I used the "cat Litter" because the first few 2hnd nids I painted already had that basing present, you guys managed to convince me to redo all the bases!
Thanks to all of you for the kind words and convincing me :)

Beautiful painting, good job for redoing the bases!
-
Painting the bases will really improve the look of them.It just seems a shame to do a great paint job on them then to skimp on the bases.
What is next for them then?

That last tryranid, the enormous one is awesome! All those strokes on his plates really makes them pop. Great stuff.
