Title: Battlefront A9 cruiser (old sculpt)
Post by: Fitz on 20 January 2011, 04:11:25 AM
A little while ago I inherited three of Battlefront's old sculpts of the A9 cruiser from my friend Steve. They needed some rebuilding, and I've just started painting them (this is just three views of the first of them though). The disruptive camo is actually a bit more distinctive in the photos than it is in real life.

I got hold of one of these models a couple of years ago and painted it then, but that was before Mike Starmer released his recipe for Khaki Green No.3, and I had painted it far too green and dark. If I were less lazy, I'd repaint it, but I'm not, so I probably won't. I notice now that I didn't paint the brass fire extinguishers then, probably because I didn't know what they were.

The white border around the turret top was an aerial recognition scheme, only used in the U.K. and only up until early '41.

Love those Eearly war British tanks like the Matilda, Cruiser and Valentine tanks!
Great paintjob as well  ;)
