Title: Victorian Weaponry

I wasn't sure where to post this. I'm looking for Victorian or pre-Victorian weaponry for 28mm miniatures. Any suggestions?

And, finally, c) 'Victorian lug nuts?!?!?' lol

Obscure Miniatures probably has them in their line up for the Paraguay War. :)

I'm assuming that as we're talking about spanners, you refer to mechanical engineers not civil engineers. This is a shame as Unlikely Miniatures produce a very comprehsive 15mm range of civil engineers and equipment in their South American Earthworks and Architecture range.

A quick glance at their website www.unlilkelyminiatures.co.uk/saea.html (http://www.unlilkelyminiatures.co.uk/saea.html) shows one figure with conversion potential; 'SAEA-12 Engineer in campaign boilersuit with hand tool'. I think by reworking the hand tool into a spanner and removing the breast pockets of the boilersuit, the figure would work as a Brazilian Engineer (from a distance).

As Brazil was a portugese colony until it's proclamation of independance in 1822, it is most likely that the engineers of the period would be Europeans (or their first generation descendants) so you could also consider converting figures from other ranges. Another source worth consifering is Obscure Casting's 15mm range 'Industrialists in the Age of Victoria' which has a few candidates for conversion.
