Not sure if this belongs here or in the Open Talk folder, but it seems to me that only VSF'ers will care at all about this, so...
This from MotorcycleDaily.com: Steampunk: The Next Big Customizing Craze?

"So what the hell is Steampunk? You actually know it well, even if you didn’t know what it was called. It’s the aesthetic of melding old—usually Victorian-era mechanical elements—with modern or futuristic technology, or of extrapolating how that technology would look had it evolved in a different direction from our current reality. Think of the giant steam-powered war machines in the 1999 movie 'Wild, Wild West,' or the ornate vehicles and vessels of 2003’s 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.'"
Mind you, the only thing steampunk I see about the example bike is that some of the parts are painted brass. Nice bike though:

They need Pappa Midnight to design one.

Seconded, Chairface.

You've got that SOOO right!
My apologies to the owner, but I thought it was lame. I'm fine with the idea, and even if it's 'punk, but that just didn't do it. ;->=
Heck, my old R60/5 had more class. Mind you, if you put a faux smokestack on the tail...

An R60/5 is a nice bike, and I'd love to have one in my garage. But a Norvin with Manx bodywork shouldn't be dismissed so easily. :)

Hmm, I'm sure my Dad still has the parts to make a Norvin buried away somewhere...

Oh yeah!? :o I'll trade you my lead mountain for them. ;)

I bet he'd not notice if I took them, not for a year or two anyway lol

Shades of Tom Swift, Sr., and his steam motorcycle...
Gracias,

I rather liked this one when I stumbled across it, even if it isn't actually driven by steam:

You and me both; tis no longer with me.
Not denigrating the classics, per se, just this one as a 'steampunk'.

Still not quite there, but definitely a serious attempt.
Nope, still waiting for PM to take up the Gauntlet (unintended product placement).

This one should be called The Pappa Midnight Bike:

Didnt Pappa already design one? Though it was a trike and not a bike. :-)
