Platoon Forward! is a new campaign ruleset for use with your favorite rules for WWII platoon sized actions. But it can also be easily modified for use with smaller or larger battles. Most of the material would be useful for interwar to modern. Platoon Forward! should be very helpful to the solo gamer. My initial plan on using the rules for squad sized actions using Operation Squad rules.
Platoon Forward! offers three sections:
1. Generate more detailed information regarding your leaders or key individuals. Make them more interesting by providing background and other details.
2. Generate the battlefield and select or generate a scenario. There are a lot of them, and they are very good. When used for solo gaming, the rules also generate the opposing force and provide for some fog of war using "blinds."
3. Campaign rules and after action activities.
I purchased my set today. I haven't put them to use yet, but I think they will provide good service.
Platoon Forward! is available as a download from Too Fat Lardies.

I did a brief review of them here (http://jim-hale.blogspot.com/2011/01/platoon-forward.html) and I'll echo Tabletop Warrior's comments. If you like a bit of background for your 'big men', at whatever level you game, then I can't see you not finding these useful. You end up with a basic outline and it's just up to you to fill in the blanks. The scenarios are quite good, despite being basic set-piece affairs. They also have a random element, which means that you can play the same scenario several times with some variation.
The only downside to them (for me) is that they are WW2 orientated... however you'd have to be completely unimaginative not to be able to transfer the information to your period/rule set of choice.

I'd be interested in seeing further reviews after you've tried them out :)
