As it happens there is a fellow gamer (Widgren) who has started with Early War Germans, and with the Early War book out it has nudged my interest since I want to start out with the Polish army. That is pretty much the only thing attracting me to FoW, early war & 1939 Poles 1939.
So I had the opportunity to try out the rules last night at a local event, asked a lot of questions and got to experience how the game flowed and worked. My thoughts about Flames of War prior to that experience, and after that event along with pictures can be found on my blog:

Short story: I will start with Early War Polish army during this Spring.

I don't like the rules but FoW always looks so good on the table!

Fellow LAF member Widgren who got me into 15mm is thinking of running various rules beside the FoW system. So will will try out a few rulesets and see which one plays the best. Though I'm set on buying the FoW rulebook as I might want to play that particular game down at the club with the other FoW gamers once they decide to go Early War as well.
