These are my first conversions of some old beakies with the West Wind Weird War SHS. I added brass wire and moved the magazine to try and evoke the 20mm flak gun. I intend to add to them (I have a huge bag of old beakies) with different backpacks and weapons painted in three tone camo. But that is a long term plan. I'll add 15mm armor decals later but the decals would violate LAF policy anyway.

Nice work! While the gun conversion doesn't really say "flak" to me, it is very evocative of anti-tank rifles. Now, the figures might even look better as Panzernazis than they do as Space Marines (me being a big fan of the 1ed Marines).

cool Stuff!Looks a bit like the Projekt X Battlesuits,Weiter so!

RT plastic marines, you heretic! :o
Don't look bad at all, just avoid the more static poses and I'd try to go for a different backback as it's too recognisable. Maybe cut down cadian coms backbacks or Pig Iron Heavy Trooper packs.
(Drop me a PM I'll post you two out if you want to give them a go?). Also Westwind do a german backpack that counts as a rebreather, that might work too?

Very nice!! :D
The old beakies should be about the right size compared to true 28mm germans no?

These look nice, but I'm seeing a lot of GW Marine conversions for the German Drop Armour. I'm tempted to try myself with something completely different. Maybe still a GW plastic kit, they're easy to work with, but just not a Marine fig.

Commander - I agree re: the backpacks. MkII suits will see an advancement in that area as well as some more exotic weapons. Sadly I won't revisit this project for a couple years (I'm about 10,000km from the rest of my beakie parts for a while.) but I appreciate the offer of different packs.
Somehow the rest of my West Wind heads made the trip, not my bag-o-busted-beakies. Oh well...
