Title: Test paint for LPL
Post by: OSHIROmodels on February 09, 2011, 08:15:25 PM
Here we have a test figure that I painted for LPL using a new varnish and lighting.

Quite pleased with the result  :) Might get some different backgrounds for the LPL though

I'll get to use him at some point in a game  ;D

cheers

James

That's really great, but why are you showing it to us?  :o If we've seen all or a portion of your entry previously, you don't get the bonus points.

Thanks chaps  :)

Questions in order of asking...

It's a test figure as I'm trying out a slightly different way of painting and using a different varnish with slightly different lighting to go with it  :) He won't be in the LPL but will be part of a larger group of figures, some of which will be in the LPL.

The varnish is 'Humbrol model & craft hobby spray varnish' It's for acrylics, is 150ml and is about £5 a pop but certainly worth it.

I honestly can't remember who made the figure but I think I got it from Partizan some years ago (maybe the free figure on the door).

cheers

Foundry Prussian Blue mid and light shades followed by Foundry Bavarian Cornflower Blue shade and I think I'm going to use it for the rest of my Japanese on Mars as it's quite pleasing  :)

He's quite adaptable, of course, but whatever game I see him in, there seems to be something rather large with nasty teeth behind him, just about to end his participation.  lol

Doug,, who thinks entirely too cinematic-ly.

He's been like this for a while, dropping casual hints every now and again... I will extract the information from him in due course, even if I have to resorting to use bolt cutters and a blowtorch >:D

Yep.  Well done, he looks terrific!

And the photo is also quite good.  Nice crisp shot up close.

That is what you want for the LPL... crisp and close.
