Hi all.
Embarking on a new project - 15mm Sci Fi, thanks to Critical Mass Games at Hammerhead showing off their amazing figures. What I lack is a decent ruleset, one that will allow me to plan how to base things and what models I need, etc...
I know Critical Mass Games are doing their own rules, but I wondered if anyone had any recommendations?

Some say it's the next generation of stargrunt and only requires D6s, plus it's free so you can try it out of course. If you're after more skirmish type games (10 or so models) then give AE Bounty a try.

I'm currently looking for a good ruleset as well.
I've read through Stargrunt II and definitely like what I see. Haven't tried it out yet though.
I've had a look at Gruntz (http://www.gruntz.biz/) as well, but not extensively. 5150 (http://www.angelfire.com/az3/twohourwargames/scifi.htm) might also be something worth checking out.

If your looking for squad level rules that are very flexible and non-prescriptive with the 'fluff' try Tomorrow's War from Ambush Alley Games. Currently it's a bolt on to their Force on Force rules, but will be getting it's own release later in the year.
Our club has had a lot of fun with its other incarnations (Ambush Alley, Ambush Zombie) and were about to try these rules next week.

For a fast-play, rules-light system for 15mm sci-fi combat, I'd recommend USE ME:

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! I'll look into the games listed. I've seen Stargrunt II pop up a lot so I'll start with that!

I quite like Alien Squad Leader 2.0, myself. You can find them at the same site as USE ME, 15mm.co.uk

Stargrunt is better for large-scale actions, 5150 for skirmishes. Both great fun to play though.

I am currently helping proofread a set called GruntZ. Small scale, perhaps 30 figures a side plus a few vehicles.
Gruntz.biz is the place to go to see what it is all about.

USE ME is great, fast play and idiot proof. ;)

You show me an idiot proof set of rules and I'll find you an idiot to break them... :P
