;)

i would like lead adventure miniatures to make a hazmat figure and
maybe somehttp://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Power_armour (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Power_armour) fallout ish powerarmour
Title: Re: suggestions thread: post your ideas here
Post by: Arlequín on February 15, 2011, 07:14:17 AM
As much as I love Fallout, the LAM miniatures have their own thing going on and power armour etc wouldn't fit in imo. Hazmat-ish figures are already present in the range, although with a Soviet feel. Some West-European types would probably work, largely because the gas-masks and weapons are noticeably different, but still in setting, if that makes sense?

There are plenty of Fallout-like (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=24228.0) figures already available and the LAM setting is something else entirely. I like what they're doing right now personally.

I would like to see the pirates range include a pack of female pirates, in similar style to the greens we have seen so far.  Most female pirates available seem to do their clothes shopping at Fredericks of Hollywood...

At the moment I think it is not necessary to post ideas. They guys allways meet the kind of miniatures, I want to buy. Maybe in a year or so...

We're always interested in your suggestions.

Actually at the moment we're already commissioning sculpting of miniatures for the coming late summer and autumn releases.

How are we poor mortals supposed to keep up with such a frantic release schedule? I haven't even got started on what's already out yet.  lol
Title: Re: suggestions thread: post your ideas here
Post by: Arlequín on February 15, 2011, 09:58:47 PM
Actually thinking on, I've always liked the idea of a 'Twilight 2000' type scenario, where isolated groups of the protagonists are forced to band together to survive against other similar groups. If we were talking a near future scenario the 'action' would be that bit further East. Again it would mean including some more Western European types to the already existing range, along with more civilian types. Plenty of present day vehicles from various sources about and it's pretty much along the lines of what's already available anyway.

Professor, be very very glad you didn't have those two miniatures with you in hamburg!! I would've pestered you both days to have them cast for me there and then. Please let Ratnik know that these are beyond spectacular. The miniatures might be plain but their poses are so expressive. The man actually looks tired, he's nearly given up but he can't allow himself to do so. His step is firm but exhausted. The kid looks scared but weirdly hopeful, so forms a slight counterweight to the father's body language. Sorry to get all... Is melodramatic the right word?... but these are perfect miniatures. And god would the father make a great zombie survivor.

They're not Ratnik, they have been sculpted for us by Ernst Veingart.

I'd third that, with the proviso that they included European wannabe Native Americans too. Domestic survivalist types and Militia would also be welcome in the same theme.

Japanese steampunk figures. Possible ideas:

officers in Boxer Rebellion uniform with steampunk hardware/weapons
civilian in late 19th century clothing (suit & derby hat) with steampunk hardware/weapons
manga style 'schoolgirl' with weapons and/or steamtech tools

and  Dr.Falkenhayn: Street Judges/Road Guards with Riot Shields/Battons...
I am all for this idea. Get more use out of the common stalker/scavenger/ex-para military types. I really like the merchants and cant wait to get a hold of some of them.
And more along the lines of the Atomic Mob, but maybe not armed to represent the standard ever day guy or gal living in post apoc.
And I also like the idea of some with a native american  feel to them to represent a more rural out in the sticks band of scavengers. they are less likely to find an abandon ware house or big rig truck abandon along side the road full of jeans and t-shirts then the urban mobs so have more bones and animal furs.
Also since lots of folks are trying for a "metro2033" thing, they would work great as the savages who lived in the side tunnels.
And as ever one keeps on saying maybe a group or to with a more central and western euro feel to them kind of like how with the steam punk range you have the british but are now making turkish and other groups.

Hello.
I have received my first minis from "Lead Adventure": the "Ruin Raiders" pack, and they are wonderful models. I like them a lot, and, thinking they are ideal for a Metro2033/34 game, I would like to see some of the mutants and some of the civilians and lone hunters of the books.

Wonderful models (again).

Or perhaps just parts to convert other vehicles/kits to a steampunk look?
Engine pieces, gears, pistons, valves etc. that just fit onto something easy to acquire such as a 1/35 kit?
Larger pieces might be better in resin though.

I agree with the suggestion about some African or Asian figures. An apocalypse that just leaves white people alive just ain't worth surviving.....

Some modern African civilians, preferably generic West African types would be well appreciated for one of my current projects anyway.

How about a Eurovison theme to the survivors then?. The world laid waste and the only survivors are the contestants and the audience safely sequestered in a hermetically sealed TV studio in Düsseldorf or Riga? Who better to survive a cataclysm? Anyone who can stand the torment of Eurovision must be a breed apart.

It would also reinforce the theme of a post apocalyptic wasteland, when you imagine the world music scene post apocalypse.  :)

Some fellow brandishing a sporty composite bow fully pulled back while in a crouch, angling the bow slightly upwards for a distance shot. Not just a stalker with a bow, you've already done that. We need a hunter, a well-seasoned hunter with more well-off modern tools. A poached hare for the base or on his person would be a swell touch too.

NEED : Clear resin version of the bloodsucker.

Like in STALKER... (remind me the script when you found a wounded guy in a dead end in a building, as you start talking to it, you heard the beast roaring in your back.... then.... if you saved the guy, he left the room towards the beast and was killed , giving you few seconds to kill the bloodsucker otherwise, you died both [him from non assistance, you from wet-pants-syndrom])

WOULD BE COOL : And Snorks (in snork poses = crouched).

IF YOU WIN THE LOTTERY : Maybe a set of markers (or gas masks with or w/o wood cross) to have "stash" markers.

Since post-apocalyptic is the main theme, how about some figures for Xenozoic Tales, aka Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, by comic book artist Mark Schultz?  We can get the dinosaurs plenty of places, and maybe we can find old cars, but I can't find suitable figures for Jack Tenrec or his gorgeous friend Hannah Dundee.  That's definately a post-apocalyptic setting, but with a pre-historic twist (obviously), and a bit of a throwback in styles to the 1950's and 1960's.

youtube of first 1/3 of episode 1 of the derivative TV cartoon here (comic books look better):

I was just reading the news on the discussion on Mao's legacy that is taking place in China at the moment and thought to myself: Why Neo-Soviets and no Neo-Maoists? The Chinese trader looked really cool and I'm sure Ratnik would do a great job on them.

Agreed! There's a nice drawing from a Shadowrun supplement that has a great-looking Neo-Maoist guerrilla (admittedly, he's an ork...) that I've always wanted to find a human equivalent for.

All of these are already available from elsewhere my friend (Blackcat for the robots, Westwind and others for WWW2). Remember that the range needs to compliment each other, as it's doing so well already. I've seen a number of great new ventures go off and sculpt everything, but with nothing really holding them together, they end up part ranges or pet projects and not really useable.

Ok back to the suggestions:

All girl post apoc gang, (but not hyper sexy in a overt sucker punch way) just 'bullet' hard but with a definate femininity.

Gunners, drivers and passengers: A pack of minis that you could use in say 1/43-1/50 scaled diecast cars, also the gunner option comes with a 30 or 50cal to mount on the back of a flatbed or technical.

Gaunts: really emacitated, S&M styled gang, (think Merv's gang in Matrix revolutions...Hey Merv...what's it gonna be?).

More corpses: just without weapons and gasmasks so could pass as civilians or dead zeds....

There you go a few ideas for the pot.

About 18 months after first kicking the idea around, I'm still looking for a VSF female with a jezzail. Ideally, with a bowler hat and goggles, but anyway a sort of VSF Tankgirl with a long gun, usuable for VSF/Steampunk or Wild Wild West/Deadlands type settings.

I have a bunch of other VSF characters I'd like to find minis for, including an aeronef mechanic, a dashing but deadly sky-pirate captain, and a pair of French assassinatrices. Of course, I could go and buy other companies' minis for some of these but why give them the bisuness? Also, I really can't find the young lady with the long gun...

Hello guys,

I'm new here, and I'm a big fan of LAM minis and a player of STALKER video game.
So I bought somes minis, and I decided to create a diorama that will represend a section of the junkyard.
I have the human beings (and childs of the zones) but there is not creature like Flesh (http://soc.stalker-game.com/?page=flesh) or pig (or controller, chimera etc.. (http://soc.stalker-game.com/?page=monsters).)
May be a future release ? :)

I've make a flesh mini by my side, I will post some pics.

The androids are "normal" humans, but there are some special poses in the movie (the leader sitting in the rain at the end thinking loud about his live or the daryl hanna fighting with harrison ford). The chinese guy doing the eyes for the androids is wearing a kind of arctic lab cloth. The most important thing are the toys from j.f. sebastian. Monolith did some in 40mm, but they are not really "blade runner".

Sorry if someone else has already suggested it but what about Holmes and Watson with some crazy VSF tech. They'd go well with the 1889 range. If approved I'd vote for a fancy ass pistol for Holmes and a crazy shotgun-type creation for Watson.

Also recently played and currently reading Metro 2033 and would like to see some of the STALKER gasmask types with night vision gear attached. Like:

Greetings

while working last night my mind wandered around and after a few hours this is the result for future minis:

a sniper team for  1881 Steampunk, possibly also for Bruegelburg if the Snipergun would be some kind of Frontloader/Flintlock/Arquebus. Imagine:

The Sniper
Kind of old, gaunt and haggard he wears a tricorne and is fascinated with oculars. He has some glasses on the nose, a pair on a string around his neck. His (Sniper)gun is long. Possibly as long as he is tall. To support that gun he has some kind of Y-shaped support on wheels (to cradle the barrel). I Imagine him having a pointed beard, pointing away from him (in the direction he's looking/sighting?). Oh and the rifle/gun has not one scope but two. A larger one and a smaller.

The Apprentice
Kind of round face with not much hair on top but long to the neck. He has HUGE glasses (so he sees everything) and has both a scope and a smaller version of the Sniper gun in hands. Did I mention that the sniper has a fascination for oculars? The apprentice seems the same.
Gamenote: In games the Apprentice could be a +2 on rapidity(reloading) and hits (spotting)

The helper
Could have been the Apprentice when he was a youngster. Has goggles on his forehead and tonque between teeth as (s)he is struggling because her/his arms are full of ammunition and scopes and the rucksack is filled with gun parts. Oh and there are scopes dangling from the ruck. Have I pointed out that the sniper has scope fixation?! :P
Gamenote: Same as the Apprentice, the helper could change the sniper basic values. Possibly a + on ammunition and firerate.

And the more I think about it, the more the idea appeals to me the helper and apprentice being females. You don't see many girl characters being apprenticed. Perhaps the old sniper is harsh and a grumbling old clot who is, while not happy, grateful that someone wants to learn his vocation, but is equally disappointed that these novices, learner of his trade ARE girls.

Together the sniperteam could be an interesting feature, don't you think?

Well that's it
Jo

I would like to post some ideas for Bruegelburg. a pack of street vendors, maybe a pack with some vendors and thier carts. Town administrative types, judges, heralds, the mayor a tax collector. Town Cryers, more beggers, packs of runnaway kids (pickpockets). I'd really like to see street preformers and festival participants. How about mounted knights or knights on foot. The city watch / police maybe? aristocrats and normal towns folk walking down the street. I know that was a lot, but I really like the scuplts you've done and thought that filling out the town would be cool

 a rapier and a pistol and you'll have a stunning (http://tinminis.com/Delia2010.jpg (http://tinminis.com/Delia2010.jpg) :D)'pirette captain'.
A Steampunk variant could easily be obtained with an alternate head http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4QfNLjPi3yc/Tq0BN2UdOyI/AAAAAAAAAnw/6yxgfKV11Yo/s1600/robida+le+vingtieme+siecle.JPG (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-4QfNLjPi3yc/Tq0BN2UdOyI/AAAAAAAAAnw/6yxgfKV11Yo/s1600/robida+le+vingtieme+siecle.JPG) (perhaps with goggles?) and VSF weapons.

Ideally the 3 'characters' should be available on foot and riding (horses to be obtained elsewhere) as at a time it was practically the norm for minis of 'dungeon adventurers'.

All in 28mm: even if it makes them slightly smaller than, say, Minden miniatures, all the better, women are on the average more petite than men.

PS: Don't forget wargaming minis are NOT intended to be display case figurines to be scrutinized individually, but are intended to be used as playing pieces seen en masse from a distance: their most distinguishing features are to be... emphasized / underlined  :D
(http://tinminis.com/Delia2010.jpg)
(as a form of poetic licence, let's forget that gravity is lower on Barsoom...)

Really *odd* how -while our hobby basically invites everyone -children included- to simulate wounding, killing, the maiming of human bodies- some prefer female miniatures to look androgynous. As if it was feminine beauty which was 'shocking', obscene, had to be toned down / hidden (from children?). On TMP vignettes of 'finishing off' a helpless wounded foe are displayed for all, children included, to see; but bits of unpainted metal or plastic 28mm high are concealed behind an 'adult filter'. Seems to reflect a bizarre perversion of aesthetic / ethical values, of what is really ugly / obscene, of what type of images children have to be protected, if that is the underlying reason of such censorship.

The past is the future. DDR nostalgia. NVA, Vopos, KdA, young pioneeers and a token Trabant saloon. Would work well with the popularity of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and the Crooked Dice game. I'm sure the existing KGB types would double as the Stasi.

It could double as some kind of experimental weapon...

Maybe it could shoot electromagnetic beams from the pipes?

I like the idea of street performers that elendil151 suggested for Bruegelburg ...

For the PA-Range I hope for this:

- Mean-eating Hunters (as evil guys)
- radioactive-tranformed Mutants
- radiactive-transformed Animals
- Kind of evil Cultists and followers

By the way, Igor, next week is christmas and this is my wishlist lol

I'd like some more steam-punk figures. Anything really, but more espionage based. Secret agents, street thugs, hired hitmen/women, special branch more than standing army as already done with the Turks.

Some French/Russians/Germans. That sort of thing.  :D

Can I have them by next Tuesday please?  ;)

Not a minis suggestion, but one for the site itself.

Has anyone ever suggested a more prominent link to the store from the forum? As it stands now, the only way to actually go from the forum to the store is to click on the latest release news item in the news box at the top of the forum - not exactly an obvious route!

I don't mean that there's should be a big obvious banner, but for the longest time I didn't even realize we had a store right on the site itself and thought everything was sold through third parties! Maybe just a button at the end of the bar that has the forum buttons ("HOME HELP SEARCH PROFILE..." etc.)?

Just a thought!

Why not use the forums banner on top of the site. I know this depends on one's screen size, but here (on a 1920*1080 resolution) the LAF banner doesn't even use up half of the screen width.

What about a beardless dwarf? I'm really searching for a young dwarf hero without a beard.. okay, a bit of a beard would be ok.. a

A model I could use secretly to be Tyrion Lannister...  :D

Forget about the dwarf ^

I like the Bruegelburgh miniatures, and I had a (nice) idea. Maybe you could at the front guys of the Nightwatch (by Rembrandt) to the series

I must say I would like to get the 'Exploration of Mutant Land' minis as Zombies (Zombivor).

Is there a reason why the 'Exploration of Mutant Land' are not available anymore? (I'm happy to get the last ones from Battlefield Berlin) :-)

We really need some new Post Apocalyptic figures.  Some armed folks without gas masks for one thing is an absolute necessity.  And done by "Ratnik", please.  :)

I'd love to see LAM's take on fantasy football miniatures. There are lots of folks making Blood Bowl teams that are excellent, but I'd like to see some that capture the same look and feel as the 2nd and 3rd edition teams. Beast Face Miniatures are a pretty good example of what I'm talking about.

I like the idea of adding more characters from images or history to the series, if not those with gear a hundred years off (make a new series for these if necessary).

What about a pope like Alexander Borgia or one of the Medicis? While we are at the Borgias, Cesare and Lucrecia? Savonarola or Luther! Some royality based upon Maximilian, Francis or Henry. Charles V with his markant face. Suleyman and some Janissaries. Macchiavelli, Michelangelo or Leonardo - or the Mona Lisa. Some knight, like Berlichingen, Bayard or Giovanni Medici. Columbus, Cortez, Montezuma, Vasco da Gama...

just to name the odd contemporary that would fit in :-)
