The group had just outfitted at the general store, picking up new weapons and armor and some iron rations, then set off. Poor Orri the axe, he passed away the previous night of lead rot and was buried before the group left.

I picked up the box set on ebay and it was a nice deal for the set. I tried to get a bunch of monster manuscript boxes too but no luck.

Yowsa, that's some old-school stuff! Nicely painted, too! :-*

Very nice paintjob and good basing 8)

Bloody marvelous! Really like the blue you used on those shields!
-
Gee, you sure have a great output! Nicely painted once again!

I bought the same set when it first came out about 30 years ago. Superb paint jobs. You really did those figures justice. I think I'm going to strip my set down and redo it :-*
-
Nice work! Really like how these turned out.
I recognise some of the models,I think they also put them in the henchmen set. (gold line). When back at home, I'll have to browse the old boxes ;)

Very nicely done. I don't think those classics have ever looked so good before.

Awesome! The second mini from the left that is kicking with the shield is the first mini I ever painted!
that was a looooong time ago.
Thanks!

I think the guy with the two handed sword was a character also, along with the one with the sword under the shield (in the back). I always liked the kicking guy too. I painted the set I had in Testors enamels 30 years ago.
This new set actually looks pretty good when done in acrylics using some more "advanced" techniques. I can't say I spent a really long time on them, but I tired to make sure they had some good shading and have actual eyes. Back in the day I tried using a toothpick to make the eyes. Not a good result there.
The set is on ebay now, along with everything I paint. I don't game too much anymore so I sell everything that gets paint on it. If I were to game though, they would be great in a dungeon crawl or any skirmish game. Actually they'd make a good ShadowSea warband also.

Very nice,I like your brush work :)

The other painted figures are being sold in the store along with many Darksword character figures.
