Last week we had a three-way battle between Lunda, Jungle Cannibals, and Slavers using the In the Heart of Africa rules. I took a couple of pics of the action. Just be aware that my Lunda tribe is still in the process of being painted.
An overview of the board. Lunda to the left, Slavers to the lower right, Cannibals to the upper right. The objective was to take the village in the center of the board.

This is the turn just prior to the end of the game, with all three forces converging for the objective.

This is the final turn. My Lunda tribe would have pulled off the victory had I managed to keep the slavers out. Unfortunately, a bad maneuver on my part left an opening for some of the musketeers to slip into the village.

You seem to play like me - all goes well till that final turn-or-two! lol

Yeah, the final turn can be a game changer for me. In my case it was shifting one model into an attack position, leaving a gap just wide enough for the enemy to slip through because I didn't think the player would roll high enough to get the distance. If not for that move, I would have held the village as all the rest of my attacks managed to drive the other enemies out.

Nice to see a game without European/American forces involved. Looks like it was a fun game to play in. I played some great inter-tribal games with these rules in the past and they were always enjoyable to play.
Must save up and actually buy a copy ::) lol

What's that surface you were playing on, Rich? I rather like it. Some sort of mat, or a painted board?

It is a spray-painted board that has been flocked. The local store just made it and the gamers have not destroyed it yet. :)

Rich, I seem to remember seeing a close up of those cannibals with the green afros. Were those figs that you painted or someone else? The chief has a white skull painted on his face, no?

Painted by LAFer "Death." He paints some great stuff. It's a shame we haven't seen any new figs from him in quite a while.

He has painted quite a bit. Mostly he has a crap camera so doesn't post many images.
Our next battle I will grab some of his stuff and photo it for everyone to see (the skull face make up is on his pygmies as well.
