Title: Eureka Tripods available
Post by: Fuzzywuzzieswiflasers on March 02, 2011, 08:58:42 AM
Hello all,

Just a quick update. For those members who have asked

The Tripods and martians I designed are now available (with instructions)
from Eureka. They aren't listed on the website. They will probably be listed when Eureka does a "official" release in the next month or so.

However if you email Nic at Eureka directly he can sell them to you.  Also the Martian aliens are available too.

Here's some pictures:

Too good for those blighters!  :D

I must say, the 'body' alone causes one to think of many possibilities, whether VSF, Pulp, or...? I see yours are removable by pins(?), but certainly can foresee making the legs magnetically attached.

Do you have an idea what's the asking?

Hi Neil, The tripods are looking great. I've always been keen to try Gaslight at NWA.

Cheers,

The way I have constructed my own tripods is to use square K&S tubing for the legs. This makes them removable for storage and they won't twist during play.
I use magnets for attaching the tentacles. You get the magnets in the pack  :D

This is good news, just the other day I checked to see if they were on the website yet. I will certainly be putting an order in.

As I feared, a too reasonable price. ;->=

If they were silly cheap, I'd have a dozen. As it is, they will be a bit on my wish list.

I, too, await others' vision in paint.

Received mine yesterday. The casts are quite nice. Some mould lines, but nothing a knife and some sanding paper can't handle.
I was wondering if the main body is meant to be hollow by the way. Mine is hollow and the left side of the main body seems to be "sunken" a bit, giving a bit of a skewed look if you look at it from the front. Any ideas how this can be fixed?

I too am interested but want feedback from others. Nice model!

The head is meant to be hollow. A solid resin head would weigh too much for the resin legs.

I am experimenting with casting the head in urethane foam but not sure if the cast will keep its smooth finish.
