Our cult tv inspired skirmish ruleset 7TV - is off to the printers.
The newest website update (Monday) will make this publicly available, but here is a 15 page preview of 7TV to tide you over.
http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/dl/7tv/7tv-preview.pdf
The final rulebook will be an 184 page, full colour hardback on sale at Salute and available in the webstore from the 19th April. Full details and PDF downloads available from Monday at the usual Crooked address:

There will also be a sneak peek at Overlord tomorrow if anyone is attending :)
-
Put me down for a Hard copy at Salute Karl, there you go, that starts the ball rolling.
;)
-
Cheers V!!
-
Looking forward to these. Thanks for the tease!
-
Been looking forward to these, and the 19th is payday!
Guess what I'll be buying!

7TV is our brand new tabletop miniatures game set in the classic sci-fi and action TV shows of the 60s and 70s.
The plots are preposterous and the guest stars improbable. Car chases, debonair adventuring, punch-ups, explosions and open-top sports cars are all in a days work in 7TV.
Contains all the rules you'll need to generate awesome heroic or villainous casts, and send them out with an array of wild gadgets to do battle.
7TV is a full colour 184 page hardback book, priced at £25, and will launch at Salute on 16th April. Pre-orders are being taken in the Store NOW – all pre-orders get an instant special deal PDF download to get you going right away.
http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/store5.html
This whole PDF thing is new for us, and while fully tested using lab chimps, if you have any issues with your download, drop us an email.
The Store also has a PDF only option for £15, if you don't want the costs of shipping a great big book to your secret lair. PDF orders can be upgraded to a physical rulebook within 6 months of ordering.

Downloaded and loving it!
-
Many, many thanks! Let us know what you think when you get to the end!
-
This is so well done! I can't wait to play!
Cheers!

"Karate? The Dane Cook of martial arts? Cyril, ISIS agents are trained in Krav Maga..."
I smell an Archer themed miniature game in my future. Or possibly Venture Brothers.

Venture Brothers, definitely. 8)

Had a good flick through these yesterday - a beautiful set of rules that look like they'll be a lot of fun.

Cheers Keith and great to meet you.

Looks great. Love the preorder bundle deal. :D Might have to stick with the upgradable PDF though...
Edit: Ordered
-
Many thanks!
-
Pre-ordered the hard copy for collection at Salute and have downloaded the PDF, which, from a quick scan through, looks very nicely put together.
Pete
-
Cheers Pete - much appreciated!

Question is the PDF in zip format?
Have looked forward to these for ages as Im a big cult TV fan, (Jason king mini is needed if nothing else), good to see some thing differerent...
Tony
-
Cheers!
It's not zipped - but only 10MB. Does that help? I'm sure we can figure out some other way of getting it to you if need be.
BTW - Are we far enough in the future to say 'only' 10MB now? I lose track.
-
...the Venture Brothers, Hogans Heroes, Buckaroo Banzai, UFO...
I need miniatures for them all now!
-
Hopefully the Archetypes are broad enough to cover all these :)
-
Downloaded and loving it!
Ditto!
-
Cheers gents!
-
Ordered mine could not resist.... looking forward to the pdf...
Tony

Have read it through, looks like a great game, can't wait for the hardback and a bit more money and I'll upgrade my PDF :-*
-
I knew I wouldn't be able to resist this. Pre-ordered the hardcopy & am currently reading through the PDF - it's brilliant!
The weird thing is that, even as a kid, I've never been into those kind of TV shows but for some reason this has really got me excited about the whole 60's & 70's sci-fi, spy, action business. All I need now is a tank top & some flares & I'm good to go. Groovy, man... :D
-
Ordered mine on Wednesday - skimming the free pdf (thanks for that) and looks like an excellent and well put together set of rules.
Will you doing the cards as decks (maybe with a few new cards as well)?
-
Glad you like it and thanks for the kind comments.
The deluxe cards and tokens went off to print this week and will be ready for Salute too.
-
Deluxe cards and tokens? Can those of us not going to Salute pre-order those too..? pretty please..? :D

Absolutely! They'll be in the store at the same time. Here's a quick preview of one of the tokens - here's the Audience Appreciation one. They're 25mm in diameter.

How can I place a pre-order / pick up at salute thing, my limited internetness doesn`t seem to find that option?
-
The preview looks great.
I am in the US, so to minimize shipping, I am leaning towards the PDF option. Question, I always print my PDF for use during the game. The sample PDF will kill my rpinter with all of the graphics. Will there be a "printer friendly" PDF available?
-
You can print it in BW and with less ink. Which printer doyou use???
-
Tomsche - Check out this page. The first dropdown option on the rule book is to collect at Salute.
http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/store5.html
Alex - many thanks! Apologies at 184 pages it is an ink monster. We don't have a plain word or print friendly version at the moment, but we'll look into it. It will basically be a big cut and job. But Nurgle's idea is an option too.
Thanks for looking.
-
Here's a quick shot of the tokens in action at Overlord last week, just to give an idea of scale:

Thanks for the update...
My printer is an HP laser. Yes, the option exists to print in B&W but toner is toner. By "printer friendly" I was talking about a version without the watermarks and the margin graphics.
I may just have to bite the bullet and get the hard copy.
-
With a HP Laser it is simple. There is an option to print in textmode and you can print it lighter. Than the printer uses less toner . But you will always use some toner. Also you can print only selected pages, i do so for my gaming-maps...(No cover, no markers)

That's fairly straight-forward and I can output to B&W too if that helps. I can drop the colour images and silhouettes too? Give me a few days and I'll look into it.

Thanks for the link, just bought my copy with pick up

Cheers ShadowKing - that was very much the inspiration.
We're just talking about the next releases, but expect something very much along those lines :)
-
Got the proof from the printers today - looking good!
Many thanks to all those who have pre-ordered - much appreciated.
-
Ordered the book to avoid the print headaches/cost. I'm really enjoying reading through the pdf rules and am eager to try out some of the mechanics, especially events and gadgets. This is the ruleset that will motivate me to paint my kiss kiss bang bang figures.
-
Cheers Tim!
-
Got my pre-order PDF and the hardback on collection at Salute.
Only thing I'll say is more pics of models and scenery, lovely layout, artwork etc.. just like a little showcase section too?

Thanks for the order Mark! Fair point on pics. Space and page count were beginning to get a bit of an issue, so we limited it a bit, but I can promise lots of images here and on other forums on a regular basis :)
-
A quick picture of the deluxe Gadget cards. Apologies - taken on the move!
No Events cards shown, but both the sets will come in a single plastic box similar to that pictured.
They will be available at Salute, possibly a little before depending on production time.
More details soon.

Cool, but first expansion/mission supplement, make sure there are plenty of pics.
Have you plans to have miniatures sculpted to represent all the main protagonists?
Cheers Karl

SHIPPING UPDATE (9th April)
7TV will be here at our Dice North HQ on Monday 10th, and will ship out from that date in descending order of proximity/shipping type, so that everyone gets theirs as close to 16th as possible:
International (Surface) > International (Air) > Europe > UK
Cards were delivered this morning. The only issue is that the tokens aren't going to be ready until the end of that week* (basically 14th-15th) so we won't get them posted out from Crooked Towers until after Salute. So everyone who has ordered these as well as the rulebook with get their combined rulebook, cards/tokens/anything else shipped out from Tuesday 19th. Apologies.
Everyone who is collecting at Salute won't be affected by this.
*: The printers had a machine explode while die-cutting our tokens. No really. We suspect SHIVA saboteurs, so we will be sending our wives out dressed in catsuits to do some investigating and kung-fu fighting of any baddies they encounter.
-
Nice one, just make sure you've got a set of the cards and tokens with my hardback for collection at salute....or the kung fu kitten gets it!
:)
-
Got my hardback uppgrade from PDF today, a bit banged up in the post, but the interior is great. Cards and tokens to follow later :D
Now for some nice reading!
-
Glad is got there.
We are looking at upgrading the postage options to some natty corrugated covering (a la Amazon) to help the effects of ferocious overseas postman.
Tokens will hopefully be going out late next week too. All these Bank Holidays mean no-one is at work - including our printers :(

No worries not more banged up than most domestic postage books despite fancy packaging. No worries about tokens and cards either I will not get the chance to play for a while, but I will have the time to read. :D

Well, I've ordered this on some sort of whim. I should have bought it at Salute but I was being 'good'. I seem to have just bought season one of the Saint, all the Persuaders episodes and a box set of Dangerman too, not sure how that happened ???
All because I liked the rulebook cover.
Stupid hobby.

We are nothing if not an Obsessive\Compulsive group :) Thanks for buying it though!

It was waiting when I arrived home just now. Slightly dented by the Post Office but serviceable :)
