Wanting some Rocket Troops to help round out Kneemo's scouting forces I looked at what was available, or something I could add to typical line infantry figures. Nope, not happy, till I was tossing things around in one of my bits boxes and found a loose Perry Colonial helmet that had not gotten enough glue to keep it on its figure...hmmm. Into the Heroclix box of figures! Snipped off one small antenna bit on the figure on the left and the helmet fit right on! Some Repaint, though I have not shaded or dry brushed it yet, but thought to get this up soonest while its drying.

Hope it meets with approval :)

I like it.
What is that Heroclix figure?
-
Convertmetosomethingusefulman?
Good Hack Alf!
-
Nice. I was admiring that mini - lots of possibilities. I ended up going a different way, but I like what you've done.
-
The Heroclix Figure used was The FIXER from the superhero range. The pith helmet is from British Colonial Line Infantry from Wargames Factory.
-
Nice idea there!
I would stick him onto a better base though.
The FIXER eh?
In our neck of the woods, this is the fixer!

lol

I say! He's wearing budgie-smugglers :o
Don't let Her Majesty (Gaud bless 'er!) see that lol
It shouldn't work (given the original figure) but I quite like that! Nice bit of lateral thinking.
-
Er, they are getting exhaust plumes made from hot glue and wire to connect to their bases with. Rob.. the picture.. great unit leader material there!
Perhaps there would be a NCO spot for him in the unit.. lol o_o lol

Failed my saving throw - bought some on EvilBay - now I need helmets...
Gracias,
Glenn

Here's a shot of the new bases to replace the plastic see through peg and black base the original figure had.

Now to confront their final challenge... their bases....
-
Very impressive!
-
Nice fig, great outside the box thinking, yeah a couple more are a good idea...
Unit. Huge. Awesome.
Pardon, have to retract my jaw now. :o
Doug
PS I STILL don't understand people who can work with that soft plastic... :?

A fellow commented on my blogsite that:
" Rocket men in Pith Helmets and tights... who'd have thunk it? " which made me think about modeling on trouser cuffs which took me right around the bend to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iRTB-FTMdk so that I would put the right kind of trousers on them!
-
They need kilts I keep telling ya!
Then they would count as "Feared" enemies when charging. Well to everyone except those Hinterlands girls.
-
very impressive, especially en mass like that!
but now I'm going to have some song 'fighting trousers' in my head about them.

Have you ever ridden a motorbike in shorts? Imagine the chilly-willy effect of flying at several thousand feet with your undercarriage unfettered? :o
lol
-
Yes yes Laughing Ferret, about the trousers though, for a standard engagement the fighting trousers are quiet appropriate. Then, should the odds be perilous or the enemy known to be tenacious and fierce, we often send for the brown trousers.... ;)

No imagining required. My youth was full of such mistakes :o

Hang gliding starkers? :o
Never mind, WAY OT... :D
