Hmmm, tough choice here, the infantry is really nice, the bab5 well, it`s bab5. I`m gonna ponder a tat more over this round me thinks
-
The soviets are very nice. That should make for a nice army for FoW!
The bright colours on the spaceships look great. Civilian spaceships, hadn't seen that one coming for this round, great idea! 8)
-
Very different but nice entries. Are the soviets 6mm or bigger?
Excellent cargo ships!
-
Judging by the bases, 15mm Flames of War range
-
Civvies in space! Improvisation at its best ;)
-
Where else would soviet infantry go up against space ships.
I love this comp!
-
The Soviets look nice, but I'm gonna go for the space ships
-
When I was looking for some civilians down in my dungeon I found these models still in their box :D.
They'll look good with the rest of my "Tears of the Red Dawn" Full Trust fleet
-
'ma colleague Mr. Raz is correct, they do indeed make a nice FoW army (that is, those that are painted! Painting 81 infantry bases + everything else is dull).
Yerp they are 15mm.
Next round, 2mm!

That's exactly what I was thinking, this entry really caught me by surprise and I'm afraid that that's exactly the doom of those otherwise very nicely painted and based Soviets, the flag is excellent as well!
-
Yes, I must say my efforts rather pale in comparison to your excellent ships Sgtlooney, I doff my hat to you.
I got my entry in at 11:56 on Saturday, I was in rather a rush to get *something* in!
-
Stop talking jibberish, your Russians are just as fine! :)

lol Mine was in 2 minutes later lol
Deadlines .... Just can't work without them!
-
Both excellent entries, however seeing as I'm a huge starship geek I have to go with the convoy. ;)
I actually had the same idea myself (to paint civilian ships) but realized I didn't have enough. Glad to see someone else with the same idea!
-
I HAD to go w/ ships! My wife calls me Captain Spacepants o_o
BUT, I wanna know where to get some of them ships! and others in the same vein.

They are the AoG / Mongoose civilian freighter and tanker models, MGP doens`t make them anymore, but AoG, despite being `out of business` since 2002, still sells what stock he has. Just jump over to the Agents of gaming site and nose around in the `B5 Wars` range.

Additionally, since they apparently ain`t available on the larger scale, they also have them in the Fleet Action range

I'm not a spaceman, but strictly painting, the high contrast between metal and (kind of) pastels wins the day, so...

tiny things are hard to paint well, and you have both done well. The infantry are better than the tanks, but the space ships have nice crisp lines and detailing. In the last LPL the space ships did not fare that well, because they are hard to photograph well too- but your picture looks great.

81 bases... Jikkes. Life is hard for the commander of a Russian infantry swarm :)

That's just the infantry! Add on another 8 of artillery, 12 flamethrower teams, 7 tanks and 10 HMGs - I think there's some more, but frankly the thought depresses me ;)
-
I love the detail you were able to achieve on the 15mm.
-
Hyuk, plenty of cursing and painted fingers involved in the flag :)
