This is a review I've written for the Malifaux rules, it is quite long as I try my best to fully explain the somewhat complicated and clever game mechanics (trying not to bog down in super detailed specifics) of using cards instead of dice and how they combine with set unit stats in the game.
There are also a lot of pictures of the rules, the fate deck and the unit cards you can either get when buying original Malifaux models - or - buy individually from the Wyrd store.
At the bottom of the review is a link to my review of the regular Fate Deck vs Puppet Deck which could be interesting as well if you consider not using regular playing cards but to buy a "real" fatedeck

I read your review. I think you captured the essence of the game pretty well.
If anyone is interested in Malifaux I recommend giving Anatoli's reviev a look.
Cheers.

That was a good review of Malifaux, you captured the important parts very well.

Thanks guys, I think Malifaux is much harder to describe than any other game. It is more complicated than most games based around dice mechanics, but at the same time everything makes sense once you get the hang of it. It's easy to get bogged down in special and additional rules, such as "focus" ability, healing flips, the myriad of tokens for each faction etc. I tried to keep the rundown of the rules as basic as possible.
As mentioned in the review I will talk about Rising Powers next week. If there is something in particular anyone would be interested in about the core rules or the expansion just let me know and I'll add it to the review :)

Normally things of a rules nature put moi to sleep; HOWEVER I found your review both enlightening & entertaining enough to retain a semblance of consciousness. VERY WELL DONE!
