Title: Foamboard question

hi
a simple question
i'm about to use some foamboard, do you have to take any precautions or preperations when painting it?

Depends on what your painting it with. You should seal the non paper covered edges with something or else the paint might melt the foam. I paint mine with 2 coats of P.V.A.

That's one way (I used to do that)
now I glue strips over it.

Or just use acrylic paint and no aerosols at all... then you're fine, and your foam too.

"Melting" of the foam can occur with aerosol paint as it's the propellant that is the active ingredient.

I used Acrylic (House emultion) and it's fine BUT beware of warping on larger pieces.
