Title: Something for the weekend, sir?
Post by: Captain Blood on October 06, 2007, 12:35:33 PM
As they used to ask in the barbers...

Something for Mamalute and fellow Gothic Horror fiends actually...

Coming to a theatre near you in early 2008...

Looks very dark, Gothic and horrific - as you'd expect since it's by Tim Burton, so should be good. Starring (naturally) Johnny Depp - although if you watch the trailer (link above) you'll see he sounds an awful lot like Cap'n Jack Sparrow... As in, exactly the same.

OOh yes, very gothic, love that dark, washed out look  :)  but what do you expect from Tim Burton.  :lol:  Thanks for the link I will no doubt go and see this. I have always wonder what Tim Burton would do with my favourite -Dracula, I expect he would have Johnny Depp as the Count, but hopefully not speaking with that imitation Cockney accent  :lol:

Looks like it could be entertaining.

Interesting cast, looks like a dark version of Harry Potter :~}

Always liked the Musical love to see how they do in this.  Looks very Burtonesque dark dark dark.

Depp sings a bit in the trailer, is this a musical, or was that just a dream scene ?

Yup - it's a film of a stage musical. I was just reading about it in Total Film (a magazine) this morning and thinking "The Gothic Horror chaps on LA are going to love this!"  :lol:

Ah, well presumably in that case it's the Stephen Sondheim musical brought to the big screen - funny, there didn't seem that much singing in the trailer...
