Zowie! Those shields...! :o
-
Are the shield designs decals?
-
They look like LBM shields decals to me… still booth entries are very good

Even if they are that Heavy Cav is superb. Another tough round... o_o

Figures are Musketeer Miniatures Ghulam cavalry
I hope I haven't done anything wrong by using shield transfers ???

Not at all. Those transfers have been invented to use them on superbly painted miniatures. I've seen many price-winning entries using transfers, just plain or painted over. Great figures!

As it happens, there's no rule saying you have to 'declare' shield / banner transfers, so no, you haven't done anything wrong Valleyboy :)
I thought they were kinda obvious - but maybe I'm just used to seeing them on people's figures.
I think the ability and willingness to tackle shield designs and suchlike freehand is one mark of a good painter - although for uber-intricate Islamic style designs, freehand is probably out of the question. I guess if I was doing these figures, I'd probably yield to the lure of the waterslide decal...

Agreed! The transfers compliment the miniatures perfectly.

The shields are very striking.
@Dr Chimpula is the Judge casualty a commercial figure or a conversion?

Frankly, the ability to handle transfers in a convincing manner is a valuable skill in itself (I see a lot of badly-done obvious ones, which these are not).

Hi Matakishi,
The conversion is from two commercially available models. The top half is a mongoose female judge and the bottom half is a Judge Hershey Heroclik. Thanks for inquiring! :)

Two great entries! I had no idea of the historical background pf these models and I recignised the shields as transfers, but that really doesn't make this entry any less beautiful, it's simply a great job on great looking models and the effect is lovely! The schoolgirls are great and colourful too but I was too tempted by the cavalry :-*

Dr. Chimpula am floored by your successful use of vibrant colours! Well done!

Best of luck for the next round dr Chimpula
