Wheres the 'Vote For Both' button??? Two very different entries! Both lovely!!
-
Indeed two entries with models painted to a very good standard. I think it will break down to the importance of scenery in the picture and what models the voters like best.
Great work from both!
-
Two very nice entries.
The steam tank really suits the ladies.
Is it scratch built? If so you will need to post a WIP thread of how you made it. After the round is over of course :D

Is that a VSF version of the Hummer? ;)
-
The water effect on the triremes is AWESOME! Both amazing entries with very different feels.... o_o
Cheers,

Well done ships Northstar, the green is really subtle and effective and the frothy water is excellent!

It is indeed scratch built, I was in such a hurry I didn't think to take WIP shots- but I have started the chassis and components for six more o_o
I was strapped for time and could only complete one, along with the figures, by the deadline. That doesn't bode well for the others getting done within my lifetime.

Excellent conveyance, and great conversions on the ladies.
-
Those are indeed some amazing water effects! How did you go about making them? Oh, and the painting ain't too shabby either. ;)
Two solid entries, but my vote goes to the ships (and rotten whales).
-
Excellent design on the Leibhusaren vehicle, and excellent handling of the galleys and water effects.
:-* :o
Now what to do ...? o_o
-
Having had a stab at little ships and sea bases I can appreciate the skill gone into those rotten triremes!
Not to detract from the brilliance of the Germans!
-
My guess for the water is paper towels or some sort of other paper product. Look at the way it bunches and flows near the bow of the largest ship.

Thanks everyone!
Burgundavia, you are spot on!
I used toilet paper! (don't misread, I did NOT use used toilet paper!!! ;D)
Rip it up in chunks, stick it on with a mix of PVA and water and push it in ripples with something like sculpting tools!
Not too hard, great effect and easy to paint!
@Dr Mathias:crackingly nice VSF entry, I love it! I'm a sucker for steamtanks and this one is great! Congrats!

Two brilliant entries with excellent painting on both! The scratchbuilt steam tank almost won my vote but after I caught myself almost shopping for those rotten ships I had to admit to myself which entry I really preferred, excellent bases too, and zombie whales... what's not to love? :D

I was looking for this technical information for many time ... I'd never tought toilet paper
Now I must modify bases of my entire Man O'War collection
Thanks for that >:( lol

Cool stuff!

Damned tough this one o_o

+1 on that!

Had I realized those were zombie whales, I may have voted differently...

Hmmm...you're actually right! If you don't know they're part of an undead army it doesn't really stand out as zombie whales... ::)
Maybe some more gore or transfer some of that green to the whales?! ???
You've got me thinking now! o_o
;)
(@the Captain: Froggy would like to review his vote please! lol)

That's really cool, and it doesn't sound too tricky. Makes me want to get that Shroud Mage fleet that I've been eyeing ... :)
-
Brilliant steam tank - scratch-built and painted to such a high standard, that's what tipped it for me, but it was another very close match-up, despite the very different models. Excellent work in both!

SIX more? :o 8) lol
Fantastic! Please make sure you post a WIP thread for those. They are a great design and you did a wonderful job on the prototype!
-
Congratulations on your win Dr! A strong entry that sank my ships! ;)
Good luck in your next round!!!

Thank you, good luck to you as well!
I think a lot of people, including myself, learned something from your entry- thanks for sharing your technique.
