I'm currently reading "The Leader" by Guy Walthers, a tale of alternate history where Edward VIII has refused to abdicate and appointed Oswald Mosley as Prime Minister. Essentially it's a story of how quickly Britain turns into a fascist state and the struggle by those who oppose it. As a piece of writing, it isn't brilliant with some passages seemingly contradictory, but it does have some quite disturbing imagery, notably the description given of Hurricanes and Spitfires conducting a flypast.
Anyway, it's not too bad as potential source material for anyone building a BUF army for VBCW.

Yes, it's a book that quite a few folk have used as inspiration for VBCW... along with the movie Richard III (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114279/) (with Ian McKellern). I liked the first half of the book, the setting and quirks of a BUF Britain were quite well described, but felt let down by the second half to be honest. I'll offer up '48 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/48-James-Herbert/dp/0006476007/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1301252974&sr=1-1) by James Herbert as another similar themed, but flawed, novel.
Check out other books on related themes... I personally recommend Collaborator (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collaborator-Murray-Davies/dp/033049080X/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1301254401&sr=1-4) by Murray Davies and of course SS-GB by Len Deighton (which I'm not able to link to due to the cover art)... but it's readily available from most book shops.
