Hi all,
Recently finished these guys. Lovely sculpts but a bit plain so i decided to add some freehand and i'm pretty chuffed how it turned out.
Thanks for looking!

Superb! Is that brushwork or pen?

Super job! Lovely minis!
-
Dude! :o You are a true artist! Fantastic miniature painting!
-
Super!
-
WOW! the minis are wonderful and the freehand is amazing! you did a great job!
the only thing which i doesn't like are the bases: simple and plain, like a simple army-miniature. i think you could make those miniatures look much better with appropriate bases!!!

They are a bit special are they not. Terrific work on both. Great colour choices too.
-
Bloody hell! Those are absolutely gorgeous, :-*
Beautiful painting RJ.
-
Hell yeah! Awesome.
-
Beautiful! :-* A vast improvement!

Oh. These are a pair of lovely miniatures, the craftmanship is outstanding. I am really impressed. Thank you for sharing these with us all! :D
-
Excellent RJ. Transformational.
-
Say, can we see a rear view of these as well...?
-
Very nice detail work. The freehand designs are just amazing. :-*
-
Saw these in work this afternoon - amazing stuff!
More please!
-
WOW :-* :-* :-*
Put my efforts to shame.
Love the detail on the robes. How do you manage to get light colours so clear and neat on top of the dark background?

Thanks for all the comments guys, always appreciated.
to answer a few comments:
-All free hand done with brush not pen
-They are based like this because they will be for gaming so need to fit in with what i have. Although a scenic base would fit these sculpts nicely.
- I work up in layers, much like other painters, to get the lighter colours. The red is GW foundation mecharite red and has a great coverage over black.
Thanks again guys and i should have some pics of more Chinese minis soon.

see also the new LAM preview -chinese merchant- and also the earlier obelisk chinese. They will go terrific with these two.
As for the bases: They are well and generic. As for me I would prefer a street like base since they are quite more upper swell townsfolk.
But for this super level of artwork they needed something extra, which is not bad at all, in gaming, too. And I say something extra meaning some simple additions like: a small buddha statue (the kind that pulp figures has in their monks pack) thrown somewhere in the base or a couple of stones -ruins from a stone fence etc.

superb work. You have every right to 'feel a bit chuffed' about those!

I stumbled across the obelisk Chinese civilian minis, they are very nice and will have to pick some up. Ive seen some nice minis at Pulp miniatures aswell, just wish they had a UK distributor.
Some good ideas for basing, i guess i have always been a person who bases minis for necessity rather than adding to the look but i guess it all adds to the character of the mini. I'l have to look at future projects this way... Thanks again for the comment :)

Just wonderful! :o

WOW! BEAUTIFUL!

The best painting I've seen in a while. Nice color blending coupled with freehand details the blacklining in the recesses is always my favorite representation on minis. Thanks for sharing and don't be shy with more!
-
:o o_o :-*
You're a MASTER!
You're freehand put most of us to shame.
Lovely minis and I second the request to see a rear view, pretty please.
Oustanding technique, and choice of colors.
Thanks for sharing.

Not much to add that hasn't been said. :-* :-* :-*

superb paint work, out standing.....

The woman has a nasty unibrow going on, but aside from that half-decently painted ;) All kidding aside, wow. I don't think I have ever seen some amazing freehand work.

If you want to avoid customs etc it is not necessary to an UK based distributor. If European try miniaturicum. He has the Pulp figures ranges being friendly and can ship everywhere in Europe.

Beatiful...pure art work!!
