Title: HELP - stocks of Evergreen tube
Post by: Brandlin on 08 April 2011, 10:36:13 PM
I need some help and info fast

I desperately need 15 packs of Evergreen 227 round styrene tube - it's the 5.5mm or 7/32" diameter size.

The tube forms part of the kits i am relaunching at salute, and due to an enormous cock up on my behalf I have the wrong size.

I cannot find anywhere on line in the UK that has more than 1 or two packs.

Any ideas or great and wise ones??? I need somewhere that has it in stock and can send it special delivery ASAP.

Don't Panic?

http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/eg227-7-32tube-evergreen-219-4-s.html has some in stock not as many as five though.

There's a similar low number on ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=evergreen+styrene+227&_sacat=0&_dmd=2&_odkw=evergreen+styrene&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

However this one will let you place 15 in your basket... so they might have that many in stock... http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/evergreen-tube.html

Try here too: http://www.modellersmate.co.uk/evergreen.htm

Suggest you order some up from many places and take whatever turns up in time to Salute, for the remaining kits tell the buyers you'll send it on... adds cost to you but safeguards sales.

Any use?

Thanks 6milphil.  I'd tried the google list and started to call around, but I think the majoritynof these retailers have limited stock and place things on back order from a distributor. That's certainly what Cornwall model boats does, I had similar problems before.

So what I'm really after is a LAFer with an over stocked local model shop, or someone in the trade who knows a distributor...?

I'm at a party today that'll have a couple of patternmakers there. I'll ask where they get theirs.

Distributer for UK is J Perkins. Only one apparently and you have to ring them for prices.

Yup, Perkins are the place to get it direct. Longer term, Alan, worth you sorting out a trade account with them.
