Had this stuck in my head, so built them. Didn't turn out the way I wanted but they are acceptale as is I think, but these things are not worth the time and effort they take. Based on 1 cent coins, core of twisted wire with clump foliage superglued and then coated in thinned down woodglue. Messy as heck. Might add green, white and grey but not right now.

That's beautiful, I'll definitely steal this idea!
-
They look like they were a pain to make, but man do they look great!
-
:o very cool idea well executed!
Cheers,

The Devil's in the details, no? They look spot on for any modern-ish encounter. Great stuff!
-
I like 'em. Might try a variation on a theme using cut up bits of packing foam and/or pot scourers.
-
I think I need to make some of these, on urban bases for "civil disorder" scenarios
-
Paint em white for that lovely CS gas ;)

Nice piece of kit! Very usefull, i'd think....
Something to remember when/if I finally get around to my riot cops and thugs...

Very effective - nice job.

Great job - very effective!
Very useful for 'Nam era gaming too

Great work! What advice would you give to someone that was going to attempt to make these (would you do anything differently, something you would avoid or be careful of)?

-use superglue to stick the flock to the metal, and make sure there are no loose bits on it.
-don't soak them in thinned woodglue right away. Brush it on, set aside for 5 minutes, then turn upside down for 5 minutes, repeat (mine are based on eurocents, I use a steel ruler and some small magnets so they can hang upside down) untill it no longer drips. Then add a second coat and repeat the previous steps.
-Make a whole batch at once, you will be unlikely to use more then a few in a game, and I didn't really enjoy making them as it takes quite a bit of time per marker, even more so when using them as wreck markers.
It's also very handy if you want to make railway trees more durable, the cheap ones shed their flock quicker then a real one in acid rain, this coats it again and makes sure they last a lot longer.

Lovely job - very effective.

Thanks for the tips. I can see how they would be a pain to make, but they look sooo nice. Painting them black / grey would make neat damage / wrecked markers, too.

My condolences on the difficulties with assembling them, but you are thrice rewarded!
They are lovely, so you can enjoy them on the table.
You can bask in the glow of our praise.
You can enjoy the pain of our indecision as to whether we are going to the bother trying to do them ourselves. lol

PS I love this place

These look great. I'm especially fond of the goofy grape.
