Just thought i'd post up some piccies of a commission i've just finished for a club mate. GW Empire knights painted in Ostland colours.
He's magnetised the arms of the command figures so that they can have full command or be replaced with lances on an individual basis. The headgear has also been converted to have the bulls head of ostland. All the conversion work is his (general squinty on this and other forums), only the painting is mine.

I love the crispness in the colours contrast, very nicely done
-
Red, white and black... you should add yellow in there too, to get all the problem colours into one paint scheme. =) Great job!
-
Looking good! Thanks for posting :)
-
These are awesome.
-
Hey now! These are great, as was said before the contrast between the black/grey and white is awesome. What a great unit, love those bases as well.
Cheers

I Like those a lot. Looks like a very striking unit on the battlefield. Also well though out with the magnets. I defenitly have to look more into using those.

makes me miss my empire army :'(

hi chaps,
The guy i'm painting them for didn't like the red hats and wanted all the swordsmen to have bull shields, so here they are in their final form..

Great stuff, both the painting and the conversions!

I think I prefer the none-red hats as well :)
Cracking stuff all round though :-* 8)

I've just finished the elector count of Ostland, Valmir von Raukov..
and a standard bearer

Valmirs horse has had 4 coats of gloss varnish to make it shiny and give it a 'lacquered' look, but it doesn't look that shiny in the photo.

Wonderful! Great painting here!

What a great army! The freehand on the banner is fantastic, how long did that take you? I have to say, I really like your bases, simple but effective.
Keep 'em coming

Very nice. I just finished reading the Black Library novel Warrior Priest which takes place in Ostland. I kept picturing your minis when they described the black & white clad troops. Thanks for the visuals!
Oh, and Damien, I sent you a PM.
-
Faust, got it, thanks

Paul has converted the old Ludwig Scwhartzhelm figure to be on foot rather than mounted, again the armour is glossed to look 'laqcuered' hence slightly odd look in photos..

This army will look smashing on the battlefield, uniformity allways does. The colours choosen are of course also helping out with this. Nice modeling and very nice painting!
-
Somehow missed them completely. In particular, I'm a fan of your banners and the lacquered armour, 'tis not seen very often on miniatures. Great army! :-*
-
Cheers guys,
comments are always appreciated and gratefully
Recieved

i'm shocked, i've never seen so many bulls in my life, i think! :) are the ones on the shields totally freehands? :)
-
Hi Sangennaru,
Thanks very much, the shields are green-stuff copies
Of an old WFB shield paul had.
I've had to make 40 copies of them so far!
It's been done with the japanese hot water mouldable plastic
That C'MoN and others sell
