Title: Hello from Dublin!
Post by: Rochie on 28 April 2011, 03:21:44 PM
Hi, and thanks for looking!
I'm not exactly new to wargaming, I have a long (16 years) and checkered past with games workshop, having been everything from a fanatical collector, to an employee, to a jaded gamer who's just gotten sick of it :D I still paint and game with my fantasy armies, but I'm looking for something that I can enjoy without selling a kidney to finance it or having to put up with ****head staff in the shops (last time i was in buying a PAINTBRUSH, i ended up telling one of the staff to eff off for trying to push a MEGA PAINT SET on me.... so that's the end of me in my local gw! )
Anyway, I found this forum through one of it's existing members who was posting on another forum, and i was immediately drawn in, I like to discuss models and paintjobs, not trawl through eight pages of gw fanboys "omg"-ing the latest space marine, and I seem to have found the right place!
My starting project shall be a small zombie survivor type thing, i know it's not the most original theme, but i love the rotten buggers(to the point where i'm covered in tattoos of them...)! I eventually hope to have a gothic horror collection up and running soon too,
I am very easily distracted though, so please, excuse the fact that my project updates will be nothing if not diverse and erratic!

If divine assistance isn't available to cover the eBay receipts, may be a P.O.Box might be the thing...I used to be married to an Irish Girl. At any rate WELCOME ABOARD. Have FUN going merrily from one thing to another.

To hide eBay invoices from our partners is an ancient art we all learned to master.  ;)

Welcome aboard :),

This forum is the best place to be! There really is too much distracting things here and I've lost a punch of sanity points in a short time.. but its all worth it! *lurks back into his dark cellar and mumbles some strange language you don't recognize*

Ah, you see Irish women are mental to the last one of them, I went and married an englishwoman! :D

And to everyone else (including deafnala), thank you for the warm welcome! I'm on a few forums, but I've never had a response like this! I think I'm gonna like it here!

On the subject of my painting, here's what to expect;

Don't worry, that's the first and last of the gw stuff you'll see on here, its all gonna be onward and upward from here on in!

 :D
Ok, got a question for anyone kind enough to answer, I've started on a zombie project, and a call of cthulhu set of miniatures (ordered the frothers set the other day), is there a general forum to post all of these in, or should i just start a thread in future wars and another one in CoC?

Exactly. Zombies usually go in Future Wars (unless they are related to something that fits somewhere else). And Call minis most often go directly to the Call section (have a look at Strange Aeons, too), unless they end up in Pulp, to which they are closely related.

Excuse me, now I really have to go dig out my 'Teach Yourself Gaelic' and my dictionary  ;)

Well I won't try my gaelic. Haven't dabbled since my college days. But welcome to the forum. You will find plenty of support & inspiration here for both of your curent interests. these are both very popular topics. Be wary though or we will suck you into so many more. look forward to seeing more from you. And don't be afraid to show you GW stuff. It ain't where it comes from that matters, it's what you do with it.

ah sound, it's just i've such a pain in my nethers with gw at the minute, dunno how the sand got in there, but i'm really railing against them right now, but i might compile all my fantasy stuff from the other threads on other forums just to have them to look at without digging the models themselves outta storage! :)
