Title: Spawn Of Tsathoggua

Hello Folks,

inspired by Grimms excellent painted Spawn, Prof. Dietrich Hes Dark Young Mini were he asked how to paint it  and the upcomming gaming event in Bad Oldesloe I finnished my SoT today. I did some reading about it and found an article at Wikipedia. So I decided for a greenish look.

Painting steps : Black undercoat. Brown drybrusch, Dark Green Drybrusch, inking with a mixture of dark brown, dark green and Sepia drawing ink.
Drybrush with Dark yellow and a bit of green and brown... Another ink job with green. Highlight with Valejo German yellow and Livery Green and more highlights with adding Valejo Dead Flesh. The mouth is dark red with adding pink and purple, inking with red, yellow and some highlighting  I am not really finnished yet and have a few questions to you.

Should I varnish the model ? If so...mate or gloss....I would prefer gloss for an even more slimey look.

Should I make more highlights on the tentacles for example.

Should I base the model. I had it on a base while painting it.

Comments and hints are wellcome.

i'd take matt but that's matter of taste :)

Matter of taste too :) I would base it.

I like it just the way it is. It looks other-wordly right now. I think that works perfectly for a creature such as this.

Thank you guys,

I have finnished the mini now. Its on a base...I did something with tentacles and slimey stuff. I will put a picture on soon ( my cam needs energy ).

Great paintjob. Looking forward to see it in real life... but when i think about it... perhaps not...   :D
