The Summoning looks great!

I'm not usually a fan of photography effects, but you did a good job with the summoning scene.

That summoning scene looks very nice. Most of the time I like to be able to get a good look at the painting, but this is done very well and adds a lot to it! :)

Well I'm not quite sure I'd call it a "photography effect". All I did was shoot by candlelight!

Stunning effect-I will have to try that. How many candles and how close were they?

Thanks for the positive feedback - seems I achieved the desired effect! Alas, not translating to a win. My free-fall in the standings continues unabated. :'(
As to the lighting rig: two tealights, one about 10cm directly to the right of the camera, and the other the same distance out to the left but a bit forward (roughly even with the cultists). Both candles are no more than 5cm outside the visible frame. There was also a minimal amount of ambient light in the room (single shaded 40w bulb, about 15 feet away). Word of warning if you try this: if you have to move some models or scenery around, do not do so while looking intently at your viewfinder! Unless of course you happen to like the smell of singed hair.

Great work on The Summoning Lidless Eye. It often doesn't pay off to use non-clear lighting effects but I personally really like the look it creates. I guess it didn't pay off this time either though ;) Rapscallion, your entry is also lovely! I really like your productivity in the LPL, always (or often, I don't know) having entries with a lot more than five models. Add to that the great settings you use and you have an overall great quality of entries!
