Thanks all, a real pleasur to share my collection with you. :D
Many of these miniature are buy during 80's and early 90's by my brother and they staying a long time in deep and dark Box... When I found this treasure, I felt a big emotion (Nostalgia and memories of nice moments with friends...). Since this discovery, I never stop to paint them and try to find those who miss to my collection... It's the army of my dream. ;)

There's only one school and its OLD SCHOOL!!!
Well done mate!
-
Beautiful! thats my dream army as well.
-
Excellent, most excellent! A huge fan of those old models myself, I'm amazed again and again how up to date they appear with a decent paintjob. And you've done a fantastic one.
-
That these figures are not available any more seems a crime against humanity! lol
-
Dude wtf :o All these minis are a gold mine but the painting! The painting is amazing!! You are my hero, I am going to spend the next hour minutely looking at every mini on your blog.
Fantastic stuff, I am blown away
Damien
-
Very nice! :-*
-
Your army is AWESOME! I haven't been able to look at every picture yet because there are so many of them! So looking at the rest is a joy I am looking forward to. Your painting is beautiful and the models are really nice too! I've never seen proper pictures of all those weir beastmen, and all your banners are works of art! Thank you for sharing!
-
Oh, man. How did I miss this post until today? Lovely lovely stuff, from the beautiful models that started me on my 25 year hobby, to the paint jobs that belong in old 'Eavy Metal pages.
Beautiful, just...wow.
-
Thanks for all your comments, These figurines merit to spend hours to be painted (My wife does not agree with me on this idea.. :D), they have a lot of value for me, they are the history of Citadel miniature. I think Bryan Ansell era is the best period for all collectors. Goodwin, Adams, Perrys are so youngs during 80's but they have great motivation and creativity... This range will probably never be equalled.
Bye, Nicolas.

I realy appreciat, you take the time to see all the blog, the best reward for me ;)
-
Wow they look great. Not often you see a collection that well painted!
-
I have to admit that I'm blown away by your skill. And by using those miniatures. That's what a chaos army is supposed to look like. Two thumbs up (and I'd say even more - only I don't have any more...)
-
Everything that the others said before and much much more :-*
One of the best Paintjobs I ever saw
-
You are my new favorite painter Manic!!!!!
Yeah, and that's no small thing! Absolutely brilliant work man! Tell your wife I'll do your chores so you can keep painting like a genius. :D :D :D
-
Wow, I'm blown away by your collection! You've obviously put a considerable amount of time and effort into it- it's definitely paid off.
I'm a sucker for freehand banners, and yours look great. Gorax, the Chaos Ogre, is a characterful sculpt and your paint job has done him proud. Thanks for sharing.

It seems that you have not been blessed by the Chaos gods... lol
-
Nostalgia..... aaah... your wonderfull pictures do remind me more and more why I love the 3rd ed. realm of chaos miniatures so much... I thought I already had quite a nice collection, but your pictures have shown me that I defenitly will need to do some more E(vil)baying to get my 3rd ed. set complete. At least, if it ever can be complete...
Really like the miniatures on the blog, even if I can't read most of what you wrote :)
-
Really like all of those. Your painting seems so bright, really stunning!!
-
Those are marvelous! The sort of stuff wargaming dreams are made of.
-
Every figure is better then the next. I can't stop looking at them. I think I've been back to your blog 4 times in the last 2 days. How long did it take you to build this army? What else did you find in that deep dark box?
-
Woweeee! I feel sick knowing how often I looked through the citadel catalogs as a boy without buying them all! :'(
You're lucky to have your brother. :D
The painting is just :-* :-* :-*
Would you mind if I posted your work over at Frothers unite? I know they'd go wild for them. :D

I know but I wait since 3 weeks that the administrator activate my account... !? Any body can help me?
I paint this army since 2 years, many projects are came to slow down my progress but I stand firm, I dont stop o_o
Last thing, in the dark box I discovered half of this army, the rest was trad or buy on ebay...
My last works, directly come from the chaos dwarfs forges... Others pics on my blog (http://nico-realmsofchaos.blogspot.com/)

Beautiful paintjobs! :-*
-
@Manic, Frothers is getting massive amounts of spam registrations atm and are having to manually activate accounts. I hesitate to suggest you email one of the moderators over there as I had to recently.... ???
-
Oh my goodness, I just had a slight sex wee! Flipping ace, the lot of them! I especially like how you painted your redemptionists brown instead of red. I have that same fate planned for my guys, though I'm sure these plans will never come to fruition! =( Top marks though, Manic! Really good!
-
Awesome paintwork!
-
A brilliant army there and full of proper old school goodness. Plus everything is so well painted for such a large force of models. I'm very envious of you.
-
All of it is awesome!! I too have a passion for the old stuff. For some reason I have been really into the retro stuff lately. I blame this blog. (and I blame this blog for less work done at my job!)
-
Great work on the Chaos Dwarf war machines! Now I am going to check back to your blog where I left off!
-
It's really good for me to read yours answers, I started to "relook" my Chaos Warriors... They 're the central unit of the army and must have my best paint ;) Bye, Nicolas.
-
A really great collection. :o :)
-
Salut Manic,
Je visite ton blog presque que tous les jours. J'aime vraiment la façon dont tu peins le métal et les ombrages de rouille. Toutes tes miniatures ''old school'' sont fantastiques, je suis jalous!
Damien
-
OMFG, sex wee moment - not only are these beautiful figures from the best era of GW, but the paintjobs :o :-* ;D
-
Beautiful paintwork. Absolutely wonderful. :-*
Makes my recent old-school chaos stuff look like the work of a blind monkey with no hands.

But if you give an infinite number of JollyBobs paintbrushes for an infinitve amount of time, surely winning the LPL is an inevitability! lol
Great paintwork on show here though (and on your blog) – and those old sculpts really do have so much character. I like how you've also posted pics of the original White Dwarf adverts too. 2.50GBP for two centaurs? Ha! ;D
-
Can I add a small amount of my sticky white love piss to the discussion? These are absolutely superb. Some of the best paint-jobs on old school minis I've ever had the fortune to see.
-
Moi aussi!
Absolutely superb work! :-*
-
Nice job
-
Hi all, Two Chaos Champions, more details on my Blog (http://nico-realmsofchaos.blogspot.com/ (http://nico-realmsofchaos.blogspot.com/))... In English, yes Sir :)
Next up date, a pack of 18 Chaos warriors in 2 weeks.
Bye, Nico.

Brilliant! :-*
-
Always a pleasure to see your work, Nico. Great job on the Champions! :-*
-
It's really well done... as the rest!
Disturbing thought to think about the fate of these moulds.

Really awesome work on both, thanks for posting! :-*
-
I have just been through this whole thread, and I love your work. This is the level of painting I am striving to achieve. Keep posting photos of your work, they are very inspirational. Thanks for sharing.
-
Wow!, wow!, WOW! :-*
Ooooh the nostalgia!
Wonderful miniatures and an even better paint job.
I'm so jealous of your collection.
Thanks for sharing.
-
Wow, I just saw this for the first time, and I'm floored. Great paint job on everything. I love seeing all the old chaos minis painted up so well. They have so much more style and character than the newer stuff.
-
Only just seen this thread.....
WOW!
All those paintjobs are wonderful.
The subtle blends and choice of colours is inspired.
Love 'em all.
Just love all the old school minis. The best period Citadel/GW ever had.
Have been collecting a few recently myself, mostly for Mordheim warbands.
Why, oh, why did I not hold on to all my minis from the eighties?
Going to go off and have a sulk now................
-
It's really well done... as the rest!
Disturbing thought to think about the fate of these moulds.
The original moulds of a lot of these figures were slashed and cut then dumped! :o Some made it through re: masters but a lot sadly didn't.
Nicholas, simply amazing miniatures I am in awe of your subtle but striking paintjobs.
Encore! encore!
;)

Hi all, thank for your comments... I appreciat to find a collectors community, unfortunatly, It's rare in France.... But I meet an other french chaos collector, in two weeks I play a RoC battle against his huge slaanesh army... A lot of pics to share with you... Clash of the Evils ;D
-
ohhhh old school style models!!!
frantastic
they are very beutiful
-
Top stuff!
I can't wait to see the "clash of evils"!
-
Excellent miniatures and excellent paintjobs.
I really dig the old beastmen and thugs. This was this kind of minis and photos that got me into miniatures. It s a shame that no sculptors and manufacturers never try to recreate this kind of minis, I m sure that the old chaos range had brought so many people into the hobby.
Like a lot of you I really regret that I was too young and that I didn t have money to buy them when I could have. Well that s life.
-
Hi, my last works. More close up on my Blog (http://"http://nico-realmsofchaos.blogspot.com/")
