Title: Fantasy Renaissance/Landsknecht manufacturer guide...
Post by: white knight on 07 May 2011, 05:17:20 PM
I've added a showcase in 8 parts to my blog, forming an illustrated guide to manufacturers of Empire/landsknecht style figures.

A great guide! And a great blog. I really like the Tertio Creativo minis.

Thanks for that

Really interesting.  Good resource.

I'm slightly puzzled though why it's on your own Blog and not a Colonel Marble's Miniatures Showcase.

It's quicker to put together this way. And I currently don't have a lot of access to the computer that has the right software and the access codes to the frothers ftp.

(and of course it has nothing to do with the added bonus of generating a bit of trafic to my personal pages...)

Just noticed the post with the Spanish/Elisabethan figures wasn't showing up on the first page.

Fixed.  :)

Great list White Knight. You should add the Polish(?) company Werewoolf. Right now they are only on eBay but they are increasing their line and adding a web page this year. I really like the bodies I got from them.

Black Tree also has a North American subsidiary: http://www.blacktreedesign.com/northamerica/home.php?cat=2314
While I see they don't carry the Halflings yet, they do have a nice range of Renaissance Dwarfs.

They look nice, though it doesn't say whether they have arms/weapon sets with them, is that the case?

I think the bodies are meant to be used with the spare GW arms leftover from a boxed set.  There may be options to come with weapons though... not too sure.

I think that is true. They do make a set of heads in morion helmets, but unlike the bodies, the heads are not very good.

If you follow them on Facebook they are planning a number of new releases this year including Kislevite Hussars on demi-grifs.
