Picked these up dirt cheap at a local Dollar General. I think they could make great heavy war droids for a number of sci-fi games.
More on my blog.

Ditto it drives my girlfriend mad! You never know what you're guna find though as the above proves.

I picked up these sets from the Family Dollar store. I am not even a fan of the mecha-style robots, but these were just too cool to pass up!

I'm not a big Mecha person either. I'm kinda into Battletech but I see larger war droids and mechs like these as being support weapons. Like a Dreadnought in a Space Marine Army.
I've got one painted up for my space pirates and I'm working on a couple generic "mercs". I've got one I've disarmed and it is going to be painted up as a heavy utility droid.

gonna keep looking!!!!!! GREAT job!

I bought all of them for the same reason. I purchased mine last year, but could never find the vehicles advertised on the packaging. They look like really good conversion fodder as well.

Another painted up as a generic "Merc".

Ironworker, I am looking forward to painting my MARS heroes figures and would love to model mine after yours. Would mind providing a breakdown of how you painted them and what colors you used?
Many thanks in advance!
