If some of you hadn't noticed, I'm getting my 'Mars' on at the moment, there is a reason though...
Anyway, here we have some finished (didn't take any wips I'm afraid ::) ) of a mine on Mars. I've still to do the mine liftcar and put the chain in place but it's ready to go on the table as is :)

Excellent work James. I really must do some VSF alien terrain, but first I better finish some more troops to fight over it!

The various English-speaking nations of the world: divided by our common language.
(sometimes attributed to Churchill, but who knows?)
Neat Martian mine, bog roll or not! Space 1889 has endlessly tempted me since I was about 11 playing Sky Galleons of Mars with a cousin!

A very nice mine indeed.

Ain't it the truth? A friend from Nottingham had taken his 'merican (can't bring myself to say 'yank') bride to meet the folks. As they were getting ready one morning for a walkabout, she said 'Wait a minute, I'll just get my fanny pack.' Apparently, everyone looked like they were going to faint, until my friend said 'She means bum bag.'
The story certainly explained some puzzling spots in the writing from some old Mayfairs. ;->=

Give in! Of course, I'll be playing my Space 1889 battles in many and sundry rulesets, from GASLIGHT to When the Navy Walked to whatever, but the background is rich, and you've got space elves that aren't Eldar. What's not to love?
Oh, and Jim? We're never satisfied; where's more terrain to go with the mine? lol

... and an army friend of mine on leave in Miami from a tour in Belize in 1981 went into a bar and asked if anyone had a fag. After a good kicking, he later realised it doesn't mean "cigarette" in the USA lol lol
Sorry to get sidetracked from this lovely Martian mine, but the confused expression on his face still makes me laugh 30 years later ::)
