Title: Pencil Sharpener Wagon
Post by: Brian Smaller on 21 May 2011, 05:35:14 AM
Got hold of one of these and this is how it turned out.  For comparison there is a pic of a Blue Moon covered wagon. Knuckleduster drivers.

Hi Brian , that looks pretty good. Did you buy it in a shop in the Wellington area?

I actually got it on trademe for $5.  I found a place in the States that sells them for about $2.50 each.  Even with postage they are cheap as chips.

I have also used the same wagon, which was bought in a charity shop.  For details see this post.

The new wagon body was built from plastic card and the canopy was shortened.

Thanks Brian. I thought of picking a few up to make a corral. No urgency though.

I could do with a few to fill up Main Street from time to time.

I was thinking of a settlers getting attacked by Indians scenario.  A dozen wagons would look really great.

That's a lovely model. Just as good as the Blue Moon and a fraction of the price. Can't be bad.

I see why you need some wagon drivers now  :)

They might even work for colonial African games too  ;D

That wagon is about 2.4 inches long.  I think the stage coach is about the same.  There are two different pencil sharpener stage coaches - the more expensive one looks better - it actually looks like it is riding on springs, rather than being an unsprung wagon.  The doctor's buggy/gig one - well, cut the die cast horse off and it would be sweet.
