Hi Guys,
I have a few Skirmish rules sets for WW2:
Rules of Engagement
Disposable Heroes
I decided not to play Strictly Historical games with the lovely 28mm Bolt ACtion Miniatures I am collecting and aim at playing Weird War/Pulp instead. Anatolis blog spot and DUST Tactics have given me too many ideas.
Aliens, Zombies, Gorillas with Machine Guns are all good.
I have managed to order a 2nd hand copy of Secrets of the Third Reich but don't really know where to begin rules wise.
Looking at all the new releases for Dust Tactics has me thinking the Core Starter Set could be a great buy for the Mechs alone and if I like playing the board/miniature game it is a bonus.
I am aiming for a game that can be played in less then 2 hours and be good fun. Maybe with a story line?
Games will definitely have to revolve around Mission Objectives otherwise the line up and kill each other becomes boring quickly.
I would like to play up to 10 or 12 models a side up to Platoon plus sized games.
The ability to add a hero(s) or Villain(s) would be great also (Captain America, Red Skull, Indiana Jones etc)
I have 15mm Flames of War and prefer to keep this at a 28mm Scale. I have an 8'x4' gaming table (two 4'x4' tables) I can use.
I would also like to play/demo games at our local gaming store for fun.
Have I rambled enough yet?
Happy Gaming,
Allan

I see you didn't mention Secrets of the Third Reich. I wrote a lot of articles about the rules and special units on my blog, you can check them out (also lots of pictures of original SoTR models and BAM/Warlord Games WW2 stuff which I mix)

Under this category you'll find 5 guides to the special units (4 national guides + 1 about mechas only)

Thanks for the help.
I think the biggest problem is that most gamers play 40K or WHFB locally.
That may change with GW's new policies :D

If your FLGS can't/won't carry SoTR, I know where you can get it w/o being gouged by postage:

I'd recommend you checkout the website for OPeration: Fallen Reich at http://www.fallen.se/the-story/page/668/100-million-scenarios - with its random storyline generator and (even brief) info on different paranormal investigation agencies, it's a great resource even if you don't play their game.

Red Orc, thanks for the link, the random generator is an absolute treasure!

Go here and buy the Battleground WWII Rule System.
http://www.syrhobbswargames.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SHWL&Product_Code=EEE-MR&Category_Code=EEE
Then go here and get all the weird WWII you want for free.
http://whattheminiatures.com/forum/index.php?board=21.0
Then play with whatever you want, in any way you want and however you want.
That's what I do,
Brian
PS
Whatever you choose welcome to the "WEIRD" side of WWII.
