Title: 'Allo 'Allo - suitable miniatures?
Post by: darquebus on 25 May 2011, 01:42:30 AM
"Now listen carefully, I shall say this only once!"

After we had great fun with running "Dad's Army" last year at our local club as a participation game I thought I might do something similar (but different) next time. The "Dad's Army" game worked well because it was a "wargame" with very little war, what is in the spirit of the TV-show, where there is comedy but not much fighting and more "outwitting" the dumb Germans (I am German!   :'( )
Anyhow we had great scenery (a model of Walmington on Sea) and encounter and objective cards etc etc
So this time I thought it might be fun to do 'Allo 'Allo, where we can have resistance fighting the communist resistance, civilians, Germans fighting Germans, Gestapo etc., and an objective marker that is the painting of the fallen Madonna with the great ... (those of you who know the TV-Show will understand  lol).
Now I am looking for suitable minis and wondered if people here would have some suggestions.
Of course I have to have

any other ideas? Especially the resistance girls seem hard to find

The Artizan Thrilling Tales line ought to have quite a few figures suitable for this project.

There's a Foundry Dad's army pack -->link<-- (http://wargamesfoundry.com/historical_ranges/single_packs/ww2_second_world_war/british/british_characters_ww2016/?sector_id=12) that contains two or three figures that might be of use.

There's a woman with a bicycle. She has a basket, and there's a gun sticking out of the basket. The Nun should be of use, as they seemed to be in most episodes  :), and an old guy - Monsieur Le Clerc perhaps?

It should be possible to make use of everyone, except perhaps the warden and the policeman - although perhaps Officer Crabtree's disgees has gin relly wring  ::)

If you did Dad's Army last year, you might even already have these figures.

Thanks guys ..I knew you would come up with some great ideas (this forum is just great)
Yepp got Michelle..but I also needed the some more and different ones and the Dixon look great...the minis sometimes are bit "chunky" but they will do.

Now I just need to build Nouvion Town Square with the city's convenience (to blow it up ) and have to find Crabtree in disgeese.
