These are some grey aliens I bought on impulse from 15mm.co.uk.
I´ve been playing Flames of War for a some time now, and when I read Dan Masseys article (http://www.danmassey.com/?postid=20) in which he fleshed out a Grey Alien list to be used with the FoW rules, I couldn't help myself thinking "Alien Invasion in WW2" :)
I immediately ordered the Aliens from 15mm.co.uk (excellent service by the way) and some days later I had them based and ready for priming (enter the "before shots"):

On to the painted "after shots" (these were fun to paint :)):
Group shot of the Landing Party:

Science team (left), Commander team (right), with Giant Golden Robots and UFO on the background:

Detail of UFO (cupola is removable):

All good fun to paint, and awaiting the chance to face some Soviets or Germans on the table :)
Cheers,
Torradas

They look like huge fun, nicely done, the weird devices on the science team are great.
-
Well done! Clever to do this Flames of War style. They're painted very nicely.
-
An army of Gorts! Cool! Where's Michael Rennie?
(Edited for not being able to spell 'army')

:D
Yep. The robots "could" (should?) look more like this:

But I couldn´t resist doing them golden. More "Flash Gordiny" so to speak. :)
Thanks for the comments guys :)

Thanks for posting. These are lovely.

That film was in black and white, I always imagined him as golden anyway, so it don't matter.

WHAT a coincidence, I read the same article, thought the same and ordered mine too!
They just did not arrive so far. :(
After seeing yours I am really looking forward to these minis!
Great job!

These look fantastic - even followed the link, downloaded the rules and had to stop myself from ordering the range of figures. will do eventualy have to finish my FOW para's first
Have you played with them yet
how did you find the rules - if you reed the comments on the web site he says that he is working on some changes
-
Recieved my minis today! :)
And Boy did I love  them, very good minis, highly recommended!
-
Yes, the detail on the minis is excellent: and mind you that they are quite a bit smaller than a 15mm "human" (they are about the same size as an Old Glory Napoleon sitting with his feet up in a drum, but I would imagine that reference will only make sense to a very limited number of people :)).
They are yet to be played, unfortunately :P
Hope that changes over this month. If I do get the chance to play them and I manage to take some pics, I´ll write up a report and post it here :)
Thanks for the comments guys :)
Cheers,
Torradas

Those little grey chaps are great
I can imagine using them in 28mm games - after all how tall is a grey?
Cheers,

My friends ran a War of the Worlds game at the Fall In convention this past weekend (for which I helped make the table). I took a lot of photos of it.

Those are excellent :)
Grover´s Mill Building is very appropriate :D
Did you use the FoW rules for the game? How did it turn out? I´ve been meaning to take up some challenges on my yet to be tested greys, but other projects keep getting in the way...
-
My friends Shawn and Jimmy ran the Battle of Grovers Mill. They used basic Flames of War rules and Dan Massey's rules for the aliens. Shawn played lots of test games with the aliens in the months leading up to the con, so he has a pretty good feel for how they play. I'll see if I can get him to come on here and talk about it.
Everyone had a good time and they're planning on doing it again for Cold Wars and then also doing a new Alien Invasion table set 15 years later in Vietnam. They're hooked now. :)
