Title: More from the Reaper Deadlands line
Post by: professorgo on June 12, 2011, 02:37:16 AM
I really wish they would hurry up and release these. Just knowing that Reaper were making these totally derailed my 4e campaign and forced me to pull out and dust off all my Arnica Montana buildings. As well got me scratch building more...to get ready for my return to the Weird West.

Those are great looking models.
I especially like the card sharp

The card sharp is a Huckster (spellcaster), but one of the good things about them is there is no reason you can't use them as armed gamblers in other games.

I've had the first 4 on order for ages through Miniature Heroes. I'll get these added.

I've actually had some horror western stuff commissioned too, tis a good time for the Weird West.

Where did the pics come from? I've just been looking on the Reaper site and can't find them. I need the code numbers to be able to order them.

Sadly Reaper never scales with anything else, that said I still may give in & buy these just because they look like a lot of fun to paint!

I've become tired of not finding the figures I need for my games, so I'm stepping up and getting some made. Not going to say too much yet, have to see what actually comes in from sculptors :)

Please say it's 25mm

28mm, but not oversized. Essentially they'll be scaled to fit with Artizan, Foundry, Perry etc.

Nice stuff, though most of mine are copplestone foundry, guess I could add another washer to boost the bases

My first thought as well. I wonder how they would match up against my Black Scorpion posse?

I don't know if this helps anyone but...The little triangles on the side of the photo indicate how tall the mini is - they are at 0.5" and 1"

Yeah, we really need some of that.

I was meaning the later Foundry figures, which are the copplestone ones I believe? Those and Artizan mix together perfectly and the Perry figures actually aren't as small as people make out when you put them together. The sculptor is actually using a copplestone figure for scaling, so no extra washer should be needed.

Yeah, we really need some of that.

Well hopefully people will like them. I'm aiming to put on a game at BLAM but it all obviously depends on sculpting schedules etc. Also comes down to whether I'm happy with the figures at the end of the day :)

It is my understanding that the later Foundry OW were done by Owens (who later started Artizan) and the earlier (more 25mm ones) were Cobblestone.

Yeah that' what I thought too

But a few bigger minis mixed in is OK, Black Scorp are just too big though (though I might take one for Big 'Un with brawny etc to set him apart)

Ah, then I stand corrected. That said, some of the older stuff mixes in fine, such as the dog soldiers and young bloods. The townsfolk however...

I agree Black Scorpion are too big, which is a shame as there are some great figs. I'm thinking of getting some to make vampire gunslingers with.

I played a mad scientist in Deadlands, one of my favourite characters ever. Love these new sculpts too, very cool.

I hope they will produce a bits pack for these minies in the future, there are a lot of weapons and items that would make these even better for use with the RPG.

First 4 up for sale now, must try to resist, as I am currently progressing quite nicely on my current projects, I don't need any distractions.

Love the new Hangin' Judge, hope they make some more with a little variation. FPR also has a pre-order for something called a "Desert Thing", really looking forward to seeing that!

Yeah I'll get the hanging judge at least because the size difference won't matter...

Must have Baba Yaga!
What a great witch!

The female scientist is a must too.

If anyone does have any of these, could someone please post a pic for size comparison?
Pretty please...

The triangles on the side are height markers, I just can't remember what they mark...

The figures are BIG though

They're about a head taller than Artizan & newer Foundry (much taller than old Foundry). They scale up with Black Scorpion. I got Stone not long ago & he looks very tall & lanky so it sorta works for him.

I can take a photo comparison if you'd like?

With regards to my own, I'm awaiting some more sculpts before I can get them molded.

I was really hot to get my hands on these. But now, my enthusiasm has cooled some because of their gargantuan scale. I have a ton of early and later Foundry, Artizan and some of the older Deadlands line, I am not a total scale purest but it does bug me a little. I will not buy every single one one like I thought I was. I am just going keep it to really nice ones and setting specific monsters.
