Title: Standing/walking drunk?
Post by: Argonor on October 29, 2007, 07:02:19 PM
Anyone seen a 1920's-30's drunkard standing/walking, perhaps with a sixpence and clenching a bottle?

I plan to use an obnoxious drunkard as an encounter in a park

I was going to answer "Pete Murrey" but then I read Proff's post and realized you were asking for a miniature. ;-)

Yep, He's from the Westwind Gothic Horror Dr Jykll/Mr Hyde, London Mob pack.

I have an alternative suggetsion:-
Try Dixon miniatures Gangsters range they have a pack of drunk down and outs. I reckon they are just what you need. And they don't seem to suffer from the usual Dixon miniatures cabbage head syndrome. :)
Here is the link to the figures:

There is a sailor in the Tramp Steamer Crew of Pulp Figures with a bottle of booze.

Oh, yeah, but he's a little too 'light' dressed for a Chicago park encounter.

I may go for the Dixon ones, I would prefer a standing drunk to a sitting/laying... maybe the Westwind, after all, I just don't know what to do with the rest of the set.....  :?:

I am a jovial drunk, thankyouverymuch.

Also M-U-R-R-A-Y, you reading-challenged, herring-eating, clog-wearing crispbread!

To help our Crispbread friend remember the name:

I think our Pete had had a few when they took this picture  (I swear I haven't doctored this pic, it is a real book, by the real Pete Murrey).

How about a Citadel Gothic Horror hobo (has a bottle in his hand)?

http://www.solegends.com/citgoth/goth85/index.htm

Ninth row down....

Or a Citadel Gothic Horror down-and-out (doesn't have a bottle in his hand)?

http://www.solegends.com/citgoth/goth87/index.htm

Fourth row down.

The hobo comes up on eBay frequently.

Yes, the world needs a 28mm figure of Freddy crossing the Caribbean on a Pedalo, God love him.

Top stuff!

(Did Pete get around to putting pedalos into "Under the Black Flag" after all? I don't have that book.)

They fit with Pulp/Copplestone OK, especially if they are all on plastic slottabases.
